I also did not get a chance to personally hear Ustad Ali Akbar Khansaheb, but after listening to many recordings I can understand why people called him a genius. Many sons and daughters of legendary musicans simply lack this one mysterious quality which allows them to succesfully carry on the tradition of their parents. Here is such a man who I believe is rightfully the succesor to khansaheb and truly can carry his legacy.

Thanks a lot! Both Shrngaara Rasa and Karuna Rasa are wonderfully expressed and balanced and mixed together like milk and honey in your Piloo. I could not identify all the raagas in the Raagmaala part. Maybe some Rasika can name each raaga in the order they are presented. Thanks.

Alam is the best young sarod player period.

There is NO young sarod player who can play an alap like Alam! He has real talim! The rest of young guys on youtube

dont even come CLOSE to Alam.

wah Alam , that was wonderful(Raga Pilu). your music so beautiful. I am preschool teacher and I play everyday Khansaab's" Garden of dream" (two lovers.)during nap time. my student like it. I was not that lucky to hear Ali Akhbar Khan Saheeb in his younder days, but have been lucky enough to listen to his existing recordings. This chap seems to be following his dad's footsteps .. looks like he will go miles ..
