Ja mam C220 ale w wersji Esprit, udało mi się wyciągnąć 220km/h. Może udało by się więcej ale nie chciałem silnika w zbyt wysokie obrotu wprowadzać z racji, że auto mam nie cały miesiąc :) A do do filmu to fajna nutka, i fajnie nagrane :)

It isn' t a diesel that's for shure. i have a 220cdi station sport and the only diference is it gots a white panel insted of black. Red at 4500rpm and 220kmh on the top also, and it goes all the way till 215, a bit more than this one

Mercedes and BMW are masters of high speed control and comfort. He is doing over 130 mph and the camera isnt shaking or vibrating at all! Great smooth and solid cars, at high speeds is where they shine the most

I know most people hate this car, but you should really give it a try. I really like the looks of it, and once you've touched that enormous big leather steeringwheel and grabbed the sturdy leather gearshifter, you know you never want to drive anything else. I love my Mercedes, don't care what others have to say about. Once you drive it, you'll fall in love with it ;)

hi to all ... listen I have an Mercedes C200 Kompressor '97 and the top speed that I could get on my car on the road was 235 KM and it's not a joke. I know that the Kompressor did that because normally without this engine you can go to 200 KM or 220 Km not any more .Mercedes rules for live men.

I don't know how it is on the Polish roads - but on the Swedish it's normally 12 m between the lines in the middle of the road.

That can be used too check the speedo on a video (if you framestep the video you can se the accurate time between them)

Technically it's not hard to set a speedo show within +/-1% (as long as you keep the right wheel size) - but on maybe 99% of the cars the manufacturer set them wrong on purpose because of that law (wich allow the meter show 10% + 4 km/h too high but not too low).

And seen from the law the speedometer is only a help to keep the speed within the speedlimit (it doesn't matter if you'r going slower).

I went 188 km/h today with a Volvo V70 - the speedometer showed about 202 km/h :-)

Nice video :o) as for C20's comment... you can just use any recent GPS and you'll get an accurate reading.

I've actually found the speedometer on my W203 C220 CDI to be extremely precise even at 225kms/h.

It was my understanding that the law says the speedometer cannot ever read slower than the car is actually traveling, but can have up to (I believe) 10% error on the fast side (otherwise it won't pass MOT/TUV inspection).

Does that sound right?

Speedometers in European cars normally show higher than the actual speed (because of the European Union transportation law).

To get accurate speedmeasurements it's better to use an external meter, like a good GPS-receiver - Magellan Explorist 100 is accurate to +/- 0,3 km/h and cost only 90-100 Euros,

One with faster refresh rate, up to 100 Hz (to get accurate acceleration tests etc.), but more expensive, is Racelogic VBOX.
