  • STAN THE MAN IS THE BEST KICK BOXER IN HISTORY!

hes one of my closest friends and hes a great bloke, god bless stan.

  • This dude got shellacked bun

  • 古いな

  • ok, Stan wins fair and square, but with luck "with a low kick"!!! it doesnt matter who would win this fight without accident! the truth is.. you cant compare Stan with Dennis Alexio, Alexio is the best ever Heavyweight Kickboxer of the world!!! Alexio has more Titles and much better Fighting records as your stan! for all aussies, and Stan Fans.. be happy, because the Stan has beat the best kickboxer of the world! never forgot this Event and tell this to your grandchilds with proud!

  • alexio sucks shit you stupid faggot

  • Lol at all the people who think Stan got lucky. He beat Alexio fair and square, just deal with it. He was an awesome fighter.

  • STAN LONGINIDIS IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE THE PIONEER OF KICKBOXING IN AUSTRALIA..HE SET IT ALL OFF ..PUT AUSSIE K1 ON THE MAP....SURE HE WASNT GRACED WITH NATURAL BORN TALENT...BUT MARK MY WORDS HE KICKED LIKE A MULE AND FOUGHT TILL THE END... EVERY FIGHT...STAN I SALUTE YOU!!!

  • any other day dennis wudda fucked stan up, that was pure fluke

  • alexio sucks shit you faggot

  • Alexio should've stayed in PKA.

  • Stan the Man is very good back in his PRIME, i wish he could fight again. if there was a god of kickboxing it would be STAN THE MAN

  • @MartialKing1996 YOUR CRAZY HE SUCKED LOOK AT HIS RECORD DUDE HE KICKED A GUY IN THE LEG AND BROKE A PART OF ALEXIOS LEG THAT WAS BROKEN IN THE VERY SAME SPOT A YR B4 THIS HE WAS A LUCKY FLUKE CHAMPION THAT WON VS ALEXIO OFF A LUCKY FLUKE HE SUCKED LOOK AT HIS RECORD HOW MANY TIMES HE LOST TO DECENT NAME FIGHTERS ALEXIO WAS 10 TIMES THE CHAMP HE WAS 74-2

  • alexio never beat anyone. he sucks shit

  • @oagih90aa Do you have anything better to write, i dare you say to his face.

  • after looking at it a couple of times it does appear to be broken or at least messed up when his foot hits the mat. I was at that fight as well as all of them since he started fighting out of Hawaii and there wasnt any replay. it was shocking to see him lose like that. He was a great champion and I ve seen him come off the mat more that a couple times to come back and win. I met and got his autograph once and still have it. He said he doesnt give autographs but he did for me.

  • @96ilihia Yeah, that WAS a hell of a surprise. I saw the fight when it happened too,

and thought it was a freak accident.

I met Dennis once too. He actually let me hold his belts, back in 1989. He seemed to be

a very cocky guy.... but how he acts, and what he does are two different things.

    I liked him. :)

  • its clear that he caught ankle on the mat

  • @96ilihia Take another look. Stan kicks Dennis just above the ankle. I guess that's where Dennis' leg got broke. Then when Dennis tried to stand on it, his leg wobbled and he fell.

If you look at the ref, he immediately sees that his leg is broken, and Dennis is wincing in pain.

  • @Jyonkwai Stan is NOT Australian! We, Greeks of ''diaspora'', are more fanatic Greeks than Greeks in Greece! Stan, not only is a Greek, but he is a Macedonian! He signs as Stelios (his baptism Church name) and has always the phrase ''Pontions kai m'Ona mat''! It is a phrase from the place of Greece (Macedonian area) are his roots and how proud he is not only Greek, but also Pontian! (clan, he went even deper!)

  • @Kuopioboy if thats the case then why the fuck does he live in australia. HE IS AUSTRALIAN

He was born here! that makes him australian with greece backround.

  • All these false statements here..1st Longinidis did'nt get the win! the fight was ruled a no contest and 2nd alexio broken leg was down to and i quote 'defective ring flooring'

  • @Philosophy0161 i have watched this closely there was no faulty flooring stans initial ankle kick broke dennis leg then when he took a step on the floor his ankle went floppy due to no support. stan wins!

  • @Philosophy0161 Yeah, right. I just saw the fucking video. Stan kicked him in the fuckin leg, exactly where the leg was broken at.

Regardless if there was no win... the KICK DID break the leg.

  • He took on the best ; and won . this guy got kinda lucky ; it is like they say --- LET THE BUYER BE AWARE :

  • i thought there was a hole under the mat

  • doctor - "i'm afraid he will never walk again." van damme - "you're going to make him walk again, you're going to make him walk again!"

  • watched this fight under age in a pub in Victoria. Alexio's excuse at the time was he was far too fit and was going to kill stan so god took his leg. What a crock of shit... Nothing to do with the fact that stan had legs like tree trunks and could swing them like a wreaking machine, no man in a grass skirt was going to beat him that day.

  • SHIT!

  • so arrogant, all he's "we're american's, we're the best at everything" blah blah blah. stan the man said nothing. he did mouthing off with his legs

  • What does Stan do these days? hes a fuckin legend.

  • @eatmorechikun i thin if stan had a choose he didnt want to break his leg but to win on a normal way...i dont like this cause the helth of the Kickboxer is at first priority

  • "your either with me, or go the fuck home"

  • Alexio is the greatest kick-boxer ever!

  • @alexanderanthony this actually proves that he's not

  • Did Alexio ever fight again after this?

  • only one problem with this video. longinidis is not australian, hes GREEK

  • @hitmanN17 nope, he was born and raised here. that's like saying michael jordan isn't american, he's african

  • He smashed Alexio,fair n square,may i show you EXHIBIT A

  • You can see alexio step on stans foot and this is what did him in. You can see it is already unstable and all he had to do was walk on it a little an boom ...looked like a ankle problem to me.

  • Dennis can and never will get beat. If you knew him like I knew him you'd just know it. He must of beat up Kevin Kelly 600 times. Reese Your the Baddest ever Cecil

  • Well done Stan.

Broke his leg with a single kick.

  • stan held the heavyweight belt for a few years .. pretty good for a bum huh?? y cant ppl accept he beat dennis......

  • Dennis got beat. But still this does not change the fact that he was one of the greatest Kickboxers of all time.

  • alexio sucks shit, faggot.

  • @TheCrazyWolf dennis alexio sucked shit, faggot. he never beat a decent fighter in his life.

  • alexio thinks he is in hawaii

  • Actually, Dennis broke his leg in an ealier fight a few months before, and never let it heal completely... He never should have taken this fight before letting it heal completely...

  • @crazymike44

might be, that and the fact he was an american kickboxer, wich was at that time some sort ring form of full contact karate, so no kicks below the belt, he just wasnt fully prepared for leg kicks, not enough xp in how to block them, and just didnt do it enough, he sure had kicking power but he never had the pain of blocking legkicks, and stan prolly had quite powerful legkicks

still alexio is one of the best kickboxers of his day, but he wouldnt stand in chance in todays competition

  • i was at this fight, kinda sucked wait all night 4 a 30 sec fight

  • You can see Dennis hop on his right leg before he put the left down to test it, he knew he was in trouble....still an awesome fighter... Doctors have also confirmed that a spiral break, which Dennis had, could not have possibly occured by twisting on the mat......

  • Stan definately broke his leg with the kick.. They hated each other and Dennis would have said Stans mum hit his leg with an iron bar rather than admit Stan destroyed him... it was said there was no money for a rematch but that was rubbish...it would have been a massive drawcard, even Don King would have put up money for that rematch..

I was a huge fan of Dennis but he would never get back in the ring with Stan after this fight and have his reputation crushed again.....

  • @happysingerinoz

wich is too bad, cuz in a standard us kickboxing match, with no legkicks it might have been a whole different story, i even believe dennis was better under that rules

  • @Elfop1ccolo That's true. Muy Thai allows for kicks to the legs and shins.

American kickboxing only allows kicks above the belt.

Dennis Alexio would have beat his ass. But like in the movie 'Kickboxer' (with Van Damme) ..

Dennis Alexio does not fight Muy Thai very well.

  • @joeblohhh

    yeah

tho in modern day kickboxing legkicks are allowed too, like in k1 rules, even knees to the face are allowed, just no clinching and no knees when you grab someone

modern day kickboxing is more like taiboxing, without clinching and elbows

  • @joeblohhh hahhahahahahahha!

Somehow Alexio never accepted the remach and Longinidis is know as the Biggest Legend of the Sport History!

It has to be a coinscidence that these makes what you say look bushits, right?

  • @Kuopioboy SHOWS HOW MUCH YOU KNOW ABOUT KICKBOXING HES NO FUCKING LEGEND LOL LOL WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU FROM BIGGEST LEGEND IN THE SPORT HE WAS THE BIGGEST FLUKE IN THE SPORT LOOK AT HIS FUCKING RECORD HES NOT EVEN AS GOOD AS RICK ROUFUS,ANY HUG PETER ARTS ERNESTO HOOST OR EVEN ALEXIO WHO HE BEAT BY FLUKE HOW MANY FIGHTS STAN LOOSE TO DECENT NAMES 7 TO 11 FIGHTS LOL LOL LOL ALEXIO 74-2 BITCH

  • alexio sucks shit, faggot. he never beat anyone, he's garbage

  • @Elfop1ccolo dennis was light years better than stan that was fluke ass kick dude alexio was 74-2 his leg was broke very same spot 1 yr b4 that cmon look at stans record vs mid level fighters he sucks hes no real champion just a fluke who got lucky

  • No question in my mind the kick caused the break which made the leg unable to bear weight moments later. The shin kick was devastating. Always a danger to get hit with it like that. I don't like checking those kicks. Better to scoot back or extend a front kick. Cung Le likes to plant the leg and grab it as it deflects up sometimes.

  • yeah i think he did, that should be a no contest

  • He's originally from Vacaville, CA. His father was my history teacher in high school.

  • Larssignman's right, making that story true or false is pointless.

But I disagree that Stan broke his leg from the low kick.

If you look at it again you can see that he could still stand after that low kick.

  • Why is Alexio wearing an Hawaiian skirt?

  • Stan the man is the guy who gave Mike his title shot and trained him to be the fighter he is today. He is his protege not the other way around. Also stan is a heavyweight none of this cruiser weight stuff..Stan is Kickboxing!!!

  • You must be stupid or something STAN THE MAN is the guy behind Mike Zambidis'Kickboxing career!! Stan gave him his shot at becoming world champ and helped develop to become the kickboxer he is today. Also Stan is a heavyweight the other guy is a light weight. Stan made kickboxing what it is today. Obviously you dont follow kickboxing..

  • You do know Zambidis is a light middleweight whereas Stan is a heavyweight, right? :)

Also may be interested to know Mike idolized Stan and Stan was one of his main kickboxing inspirations and influences, Stan was the one to discover Zambidis and get him onto the international scene.

  • that was pretty gay. y dont u watch boxing allan greene quickest ko in the world 6 seconds amatuer career

  • wow ...but hell what fuck is that thing alexio is wearing ..is that a grass skirt ?

  • you're the ignorant one moron. if it wasn't the kick that caused his leg to fracture in the exact same spot where the kick landed, what the fuck was it then dickhead? some sort of miraculous co-incidence?

  • Wow, why the hostility? In a pre fight check Alexio pointed out a soft spot in the ring which the officials didn't do anything about. He decided to fight anyway, probably because of the pressure that it had to go on because promoters, advertisers, tickets sold and so on. That's what he said he stepped in. And by the look of the video, it's pretty likely.

  • And if he did point it out before hand why the feck would he go and stand in it!???

  • There was only one? He didn't stand it, he was moving normally and stepped in it. Did Alexio, the champ, have a history of faking injuries, or lying about how they happened? No. The dude that posted above my original calls him a fag and gets +3? Sure, that "fag" kicked pretty much everyones ass he ever faced and whether it was the ring or the kick in this case, it was a fluke. Did Stan do that to everyone he faced? You clearly see that Alexio is able to step 3 times before he goes down.

  • ouch

  • The ringside doctor and the operating surgeons who put the pin in his leg stated it was a spiral fracture which resulted from the force and placement of the kick...and if you want to get techhnical, Alexio's poor leg checking technique was one of the main reasons for the injury. He just wasn't a low kick rules fighter.

  • I can't believe some people still think it was JUST THE KICK that broke his leg.

  • Ummm...well maybe that's because it was the kick that fractured the leg. Hence it was a TKO1 to Longinidis. What was it that Alexio's manager said after the fight? Stan won by an excellent legal kick.

  • Ummm, his leg wasn't fractured right away. He put his weight down on it 3 times and it was fine. The 4th time, when he took a big step back, it finally broke. That's not just from a kick.

  • Yes, it was fractured right away. He hopped back and it snapped completely when he put his weight down on it. There's another view of the fight on youtube, look it up. The x-rays showed it was a spiral fracture which results from a big impact, kind of like getting belted with something...or as his OWN TEAM stated an "excellent kick". This fight was 15 years ago and even Alexio acknowledges he lost!

  • Listen, I'm not denying the kick was good. But I am saying that the kick did NOT do ALL the damage. Maybe it did most, but it needed the aid of what happened after the kick to fracture both bones completely. btw, I've watched all the angles that exist. I'm simply saying it's not as clearcut as just, "that kick broke his leg."

  • just to help my point: watch close at 1:08. All his weight is on that leg and nothing. I've seen legs snap right away from the impact of a blow. His leg did NOT. And let me be clear: I'm not saying he didn't lose the match. Simply saying it didn't break just from that blow.

  • Yeah. People can be really fuckin ignorant. The video obviously shows that it wasnt just the kick.

  • lolllllll.poor eric.gets wasted in kickboxer and in real life.what a legend!

  • Without previous knowledge of these guys it goes:

    Longinidis lands a punch

Longinidis lands direct kick to Alexio's shin

Longinidis lands a couple more punches

    Alexio's shin snaps

ref comes in and makes a wish on his snapped shin bone

  • it wuz his ankle

  • stan the bulldog hahahaha!

  • In a way this parallels the Movie 'Kickboxer' where Alexio loses because he has no Thai experince, strange he didnt learn the lesson from his own movie 3 years earlier LOL

  • there was a soft spot on the mat that tore alexio's acl...he was simply unstoppable until that happend...stan the man pfffff...he didn't even do well in k1. Peter aerts would knock him dead.

  • LOL! Alexio tore his ACL? Buddy, his leg was broken as a result of the kick, there wasn't any torn ACL's or slipping on mats. Got that, broken, as in snapped! Man, you guys are hilarious, I never seen anything like this! lol!

Stan was a littler over the hill as K-1 got bigger, but considering Alexio didn't even have the balls to step up to K-1 after Stan smashed him, well, your point is, well, pointless! haha!

  • I've seen a video of alexio walking around the ring when no fans where there yet and complaining of a 'soft spot' in the exact same place he put his foot down. For sure Stan's kick hurt, but i think he did something when he put his foot down. you must be an aussie or something to reply like a cunt like that.

  • i'm not aussie, but i might be a cunt! lol! at least i'm not a stupid cunt though. haha!

alexio didn't do his ACL. it's that simple. his leg was busted. as his manager stated after the fight, on national TV, (clip is on youtube) "stan won by an excellent legal kick." case closed. the two camps had a $100,000 side bet before the fight. alexio's backers paid up to stans backers when he lost. case closed.

  • u are

  • yeah, well it was a mixture of a few things, and a good kick.... but the fact remains that dennis alexio was one of the best ever in this version of kickboxing, and theres no two ways about it.... if the match had went on and things didnt go down the way they did, dennis would have most likely won, and this is from a totally neutral fan who doesnt really like either fighter.

  • your right i screwed up i didnt know it was below the legs bout.I still feel Alexio would of killed Wilson they fought a long time ago when Denis wasnt at his prime.Your right Stan won this it would have been nice to see a rematch though i dont know why there was never enough money raised.

  • Well i apologise for that and striker you need to calm down man.You know your words arent scaring me interent warrior besides you can see cleary it was the mat,and all im stating whether you thought he won or lost this was ruled a No Contest by the officials theres no question behind that if you agree with that or not is your own personal opinion but there can be no question this was a No Contest.

  • lol!i'm starting to think you're kidding.first you say low kicks were illegal, now its a hole in the mat! the official never ruled it a no contest, watch the full fight, stan is declared the WINNER.every report and rating around the world reported it that way and still do, alexio's team made a cover-up story to hide the loss to american fans which they told on that ppv event you're talking about.today even alexio admits he lost, he lists 2 losses, one to wilson and this one to stan.

  • listen striker this is stupid to argue, this is a kickboxing match not the UFC or Pride or Muay Thai fight.Lets just say for one second he did break his leg its against the rules your not allowed to kick below the waste if that was the case Alexio would of done the same thing this was ruled a No Contest by the World kickboxing federation. The remach fight never took place cause there wasnt even enough money raised everyone knew Alexio would of mopped up the floor with Stan

  • right there you just proved once and for all that you have no fucking clue and your credibility just went out the window. you say it was against the rules for stan to kick below the waste? idiot, leg kicks were LEGAL in this fight, it was a leg kick bout, not an american full contact rules bout. mate, bit of advice, have a fucking clue what you are talking about before you mouth off.

  • Geez man, are you being serious? This was a Low Kick rules bout, it was like a K-1 bout but without the knees. The kick was 100% legal, hence Stan won the fight. Theres a vid here on youtube of Alexio's manager stating "Stan won with an excellent, legal kick" in those exact words.

And there is no such thing as the world kickboxing federation. the world kickboxing association however co-sanctioned and show Stan as a winner by TKO in 6 seconds, as did every other sanctioning body.

  • sweep the leg

  • first of all u dumb asses i have the fight he fought after this against dick the destroyer kimber and this was ruled a no contest and it even says it in his next fight so shut the hell up u losses u been reading wikipedia to much which is a bunch of bull crap.

  • it wasn't a no contest, that was a cover up to fool idiots like you, every other sanctioning body recorded a win to stan, even Alexio himslef now acknowledges he had TWO losses, he lists his record as 70-2. got that? the kimber fight was all pro-alexio propaganda perpetrated by his manager. if you really fell for that lie about holes in the canvas, i feel sorry for you man, you are the kind of clueless idiot they were trying to fool.

  • Nothing better then watching a big mouth hitting the ground and keeping his mouth shut for a while. Oh wait a mintue, he stated crying and saying it wasn't stan's kick that took him down. What a bad loser

  • lol looks like Stan The Man took Alexio's own advice: "You don't win fights with that tip-tap shit! Power kicks!"

  • Lmao!

  • Great comment!! So true!!

  • that had nothing to do with afucking kick he put his foot down after the kick and his ankle buckled you are morons

  • his leg broke retard. it wasn't a "bucked ankle". his own manager stated it was a win by an "excelent kick from Stan". the kick fractured the bone, and it completely gave after he hopped back. even alexio admits this was a loss these days, he lists 2 losses. dummy.

  • etsi gamaei h kozanh

  • this was not a no contest, it was a legitimate win. nobody takes alexio's clkaim seriously, it was a bs excuse. bob wall, alexio's manger, did an interview with aussie tv after the fight and he said "stan certainly won with an excellent kick, but dennis will be back". the two teams also had a side bet going on the result of the fight, and alexio's team paid up after the fight because they lost.

  • the faulty ring mat bs was concocted to fool the american fans of the time and to protect alexio's image as he had a movie role coming up which fell through anyway.

  • well, it certainly wasn't JUST the kick. that was some terrible luck

  • stupid this fight was ruled no contest I believe alexio would of killed him.

  • faulty ring mat you can say that again!!! Compo in good cause there. The guys a legend

  • stelara I was there mate and it landed pretty good

  • Kick barely landed Alexio's leg was in the air. He then took 2 steps before twisting on the loose mat it was a spiral fracture. Total no-contest. Stan was great but Alexio would have lunched him without the accident.

  • this was ruled a no contest it was a faulty mat that made him break his leg

  • Ozkan humiliated Stan the man but Zambidis humiliated him and got the revenge of his idol. But fuck fascist Greeks

  • in regards to Ozkan, Zambidis took care of him. TWICE

  • pfff wikipedia

  • "Alexio said the fracture was caused by twisting his leg on the faulty ring mat." (wikipedia)

  • Dont deny it meeen. Auuuuuuuwwwww there goes Stans´ leg. Also his careeer, he never came back. Puhahahahaa Wack legs..

  • Gurkan Ozkan brokes the leg of Stan the man.

  • kick didn't look that powerful, very strange. Maybe previous underlying damage had built up, and the kick just was the straw.

  • exactly

  • killed him!!!
