I was at that fight as well as all of them since he started fighting out of Hawaii and there wasnt any replay. it was shocking to see him lose like that. He was a great champion and I ve seen him come off the mat more that a couple times to come back and win. I met and got his autograph once and still have it. might be, that and the fact he was an american kickboxer, wich was at that time some sort ring form of full contact karate, so no kicks below the belt, he just wasnt fully prepared for leg kicks, not enough xp in how to block them, and just didnt do it enough, he sure had kicking power but he never had the pain of blocking legkicks, and stan prolly had quite powerful legkicks

No question in my mind the kick caused the break which made the leg unable to bear weight moments later. The shin kick was devastating. Always a danger to get hit with it like that. I don't like checking those kicks. Better to scoot back or extend a front kick. Cung Le likes to plant the leg and grab it as it deflects up sometimes.

Wow, why the hostility? In a pre fight check Alexio pointed out a soft spot in the ring which the officials didn't do anything about. He decided to fight anyway, probably because of the pressure that it had to go on because promoters, advertisers, tickets sold and so on. That's what he said he stepped in. And by the look of the video, it's pretty likely.
There was only one? He didn't stand it, he was moving normally and stepped in it. Did Alexio, the champ, have a history of faking injuries, or lying about how they happened? No. The dude that posted above my original calls him a fag and gets +3? Sure, that "fag" kicked pretty much everyones ass he ever faced and whether it was the ring or the kick in this case, it was a fluke. Did Stan do that to everyone he faced? You clearly see that Alexio is able to step 3 times before he goes down.
The ringside doctor and the operating surgeons who put the pin in his leg stated it was a spiral fracture which resulted from the force and placement of the kick...and if you want to get techhnical, Alexio's poor leg checking technique was one of the main reasons for the injury. He just wasn't a low kick rules fighter.

The x-rays showed it was a spiral fracture which results from a big impact, kind of like getting belted with something...or as his OWN TEAM stated an "excellent kick". This fight was 15 years ago and even Alexio acknowledges he lost!

Maybe it did most, but it needed the aid of what happened after the kick to fracture both bones completely. btw, I've watched all the angles that exist. No question in my mind the kick caused the break which made the leg unable to bear weight moments later. The shin kick was devastating. Always a danger to get hit with it like that. I don't like checking those kicks. Better to scoot back or extend a front kick. Cung Le likes to plant the leg and grab it as it deflects up sometimes.

Also Stan is a heavyweight the other guy is a light weight. Stan made kickboxing what it is today. Obviously you dont follow kickboxing..

Wow, why the hostility? In a pre fight check Alexio pointed out a soft spot in the ring which the officials didn't do anything about. He decided to fight anyway, probably because of the pressure that it had to go on because promoters, advertisers, tickets sold and so on. That's what he said he stepped in. And by the look of the video, it's pretty likely.

There was only one? He didn't stand it, he was moving normally and stepped in it. Did Alexio, the champ, have a history of faking injuries, or lying about how they happened? No. The dude that posted above my original calls him a fag and gets +3? Sure, that "fag" kicked pretty much everyones ass he ever faced and whether it was the ring or the kick in this case, it was a fluke. Did Stan do that to everyone he faced? You clearly see that Alexio is able to step 3 times before he goes down.

The ringside doctor and the operating surgeons who put the pin in his leg stated it was a spiral fracture which resulted from the force and placement of the kick...and if you want to get techhnical, Alexio's poor leg checking technique was one of the main reasons for the injury. He just wasn't a low kick rules fighter.

Ummm...well maybe that's because it was the kick that fractured the leg. Hence it was a TKO1 to Longinidis. What was it that Alexio's manager said after the fight? Stan won by an excellent legal kick.

Ummm, his leg wasn't fractured right away. He put his weight down on it 3 times and it was fine. The 4th time, when he took a big step back, it finally broke. That's not just from a kick.

Yes, it was fractured right away. He hopped back and it snapped completely when he put his weight down on it. There's another view of the fight on youtube, look it up. The x-rays showed it was a spiral fracture which results from a big impact, kind of like getting belted with something...or as his OWN TEAM stated an "excellent kick". This fight was 15 years ago and even Alexio acknowledges he lost!

Listen, I'm not denying the kick was good. But I am saying that the kick did NOT do ALL the damage. Maybe it did most, but it needed the aid of what happened after the kick to fracture both bones completely. btw, I've watched all the angles that exist. I'm simply saying it's not as clearcut as just, "that kick broke his leg."

just to help my point: watch close at 1:08. All his weight is on that leg and nothing. I've seen legs snap right away from the impact of a blow. His leg did NOT. And let me be clear: I'm not saying he didn't lose the match. Simply saying it didn't break just from that blow.

I've seen a video of alexio walking around the ring when no fans where there yet and complaining of a 'soft spot' in the exact same place he put his foot down. alexio didn't do his ACL. it's that simple. his leg was busted. as his manager stated after the fight, on national TV, (clip is on youtube) "stan won by an excellent legal kick." case closed. the two camps had a $100,000 side bet before the fight. alexio's backers paid up to stans backers when he lost. case closed.

yeah, well it was a mixture of a few things, and a good kick.... but the fact remains that dennis alexio was one of the best ever in this version of kickboxing, and theres no two ways about it.... if the match had went on and things didnt go down the way they did, dennis would have most likely won, and this is from a totally neutral fan who doesnt really like either fighter.

Geez man, are you being serious? This was a Low Kick rules bout, it was like a K-1 bout but without the knees. The kick was 100% legal, hence Stan won the fight. Theres a vid here on youtube of Alexio's manager stating "Stan won with an excellent, legal kick" in those exact words.
And there is no such thing as the world kickboxing federation. the world kickboxing association however co-sanctioned and show Stan as a winner by TKO in 6 seconds, as did every other sanctioning body.

his leg broke retard. it wasn't a "bucked ankle". his own manager stated it was a win by an "excelent kick from Stan". the kick fractured the bone, and it completely gave after he hopped back. even alexio admits this was a loss these days, he lists 2 losses. dummy.

this was not a no contest, it was a legitimate win. nobody takes alexio's clkaim seriously, it was a bs excuse. bob wall, alexio's manger, did an interview with aussie tv after the fight and he said "stan certainly won with an excellent kick, but dennis will be back". the two teams also had a side bet going on the result of the fight, and alexio's team paid up after the fight because they lost.
