Shawn you are great. I was researching the web for this type of information for quite some time. You succinctly and effectively made great points. Thx
shawn ! if you watch michael jacobs (youtuve)from nygolfworld he explain about straight ,angle, circle deliverly.you can check it out there. thank you
I checked out some of his stuff...no comments there sorry...to answer your question though is that all swings from the driver to the putter are on an arc; The best video for this is my "Golf Pro Lesson swing plane"; Shawn
For this question in regards to putting; I will refer you to my "Golf Pro Lesson Tuning the putting stroke" video and for the full swing; the best vid for that would be "Golf Pro Lesson Swing Plane"; For the full swing, I don't know any straight delivery...for the putting stroke on short putts, ask any tour player working with Dave Pelz...:)
Hi Shawn, So you are running out of stuff and going to the rules :), I think that a big factor in steping om the putting line is that you also get an penalty for doing it :)
Not really; I just think that after playing with the average guy again that there is a serious lack of knowledge that has to be addressed for basic rules...I have a whole slew of videos coming out soon!
Hi Shawn. You should do a session on rules & etiquette...much needed. BUT...check out Rule 20-1....clearly states the marker must be "immediately behind " the ball. Now then ..when are you coming to Britain?..."Toss and fall" has cured 3 years of yipping chipping....and when I get it right the long stuff is unbelievable....just need some confirmation about what is right. Top man...come over, there are some great courses here!! Richard
Thanks Richard, I will bring this to the attention of my rules Guru in the RCGA who stated this to me...And I do want to make it over the pond one day; hope to make it soon! My number 1 man, Paul Davies will be in Scotland this September though! Send me an email and let me know what it is you need confirmation on...Shawn
Whats the proper etiquette with respect to lining up a mark on the golf ball? I like to use the aim line on the ball, but I always worry that I'm breaking the rules when i rotate the ball.
It doesn't matter whether you're a beginner or a low handicap, you'll always have to think about respecting fellow golfers and contributing for their enjoyment of the game.
I wish beginners had to take a course on etiquette before playing. Even at higher end courses, I've now noticed un-raked bunkers & pock mark greens from neglectful golfers. So frustrating.

if anyone stepped on my line, and the footsteps are quite clear, is there any way to quick repair it? just tap a bit?
JalalHaddad 3 years ago
You cannot tap down spike marks or foot prints I a afraid...just ball marks...Thanks for the question! Shawn

Keep your marker behind the ball and rotate to your liking, then remove your marker

Not at all!! As long as the ball is clearly marked with a coin "immediately behind" the ball like Richard said you can aim the ball the way you like!
