You guys thinj i should spring for this on a newbuild im doing or the M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3?my main issue is the low end crossfire support on the second mobo
Smarter to use the 790fx. The new 890FX is a shortlived and dated chipset. When the 8 core cpu comes out you will see the the 990FX chipset and get the Bulldozer Zambezi will only use the new 990FX CHIPSET cause of the 24gb quad channel memorey configuration.
This motherbored is gonna cuase a lot of controversy becuase it has a uniquie feature unlike any other board to date. the motherboard will try to power up cores that AMD itself has disabled; for example, the motherboard may try to power up a dual-core chip into a triple-core or quad-core processor, or a triple-core into a quad-core processor.
@JINXZER previous motherboards have offered this in the BIOS but there was only a small chance & you had to match your board with the right CPU to unlock. This board can't guarantee it either but a much higher chance.

@JINXZER This feature has existed for years it was just in the BIOS rather than a switch.

@Costerguy1234556 you're wrong!
newer chipsets have core unlocking remove by AMD from the ACC so that's why, Asus designed the switches
