So that way, we don't have to worry about the pilot being shot down in their cockpits and others had to risk their lives to get them. It was an honor to be on the ship with Capt. O'Grady when our trap team rescued him. I remember peaking through the doors in sick bay on the Kearsarge at him thinking to myself, "Damn he is lucky, and needs a shave"... This was very real, I was there. One of the highlights of my USMC experience.

My best friend and bodyguard marine sgt. Mike Skinner was the one who stabbed the enemy guard and cut the ropes to save this man believe it or not on that August 13th day 1995. He tells me the story often and has met this pilot. This marine later became homeless after his discharge, lost his oldest son to cancer and I rescued him not long ago so he could have a better lifestyle, thanks to sgt. Michael Scott Skinner for leading the brave 8 soldiers on that rescue mission.
