I gotta know what that intro music at the very start of the video is. I would love to listen to the whole loop of whatever that was. Anyone know what that music is?
I bet if someone had told race fans or drivers in 84 that one day Toyotas would be in NASCAR they would have laughed their ass off. What was great about racing then was you had Ford, Chevy, Pontiac, Buick, and Oldsmobile. Now two of those car makes (Olds, and Pontiac) don't exist and Buick aint looking too good now either. Oh well.
yes these car produced awesome racing...in this same year they set the all time record for lead changes (which still stands today) at talladega at 75 lead changes. not just the all time NASCAR lead changes but i think all time lead changes in racing period, if im not mistaking

@Fania54 I like the 90 degree headers actually....You just like that terrible hot rod sound that some cars make but aren't actually fast.

@dj4monie Yeah right "terrible hot rod sound that some cars make but aren't actually fast"? 200+ MPH isn't "actually fast" to you?
Not only did the cars sound awsome, but that was the fastest era in the history of the sport until the restrictor plates came about in 1988.

This was the best racing (mid 80's) got to love the cars, they look just like the ones you would see on the road.

Monte Carlo's, T-Bird's, Ken Squire and Ned Jarrett....It didn't get much better than that.

The turn 1 camera was my all-time favorite camera angle at Daytona, and possibly NASCAR. It def. needs to come back!

I'm glad to see somebody finally uploaded this whole thing.
Gotta love the shoebox look of NASCAR in the 80s... Might explain why the car now looks like a box, the racing was better in the 80s.

Someone should recommend "Seperate Ways" to nadeau1064 to use in one of his videos!
