btw I'm working on an architecture project right now and I find it absolutely necessary that I listen to something to concentrate better. So I find this radio sequence even more entertaining. Thank you for helping me work, guys!

ACTUALLY, because of America's political groups being to the right of those, it's not so simple as that. Some Torries, the Lib Dems would be Democrats and so would some members of the Labour Party. But some members of the Labour Party (including me frankly) are too left wing for the Democrats.
BUT, though some of the Torries would be democrats some would be Republicans. Actually the leader of our local Torries is would fit right in with the Republicans.
We have conservatives, who are like your (or at least america's ) democrats, labour who are like the democrats only a bit further left (theyre in power atm). The closest to the republicans who we have are the nationalists (eg the BNP) who are hated by almost everyone.
Oh, I know; I botched that entire segment fairly hilariously. (For example, I noted more than once that the Great Fire occurred in 1606, when in reality it was 1666.)

I was referring to republicanism, which had been somewhat in vogue for a while, what with the Civil War and the execution of Charles I. These were dudes who tended to butt heads with the royalists, and uprisings were still occurring even into the 1660s, when, you know, London burned down.
Those guys are being pretty still talking can't even see there mouths moving :O
