I like this casting, but would make a few changes, I thing Gerard Butler as Jaime and Murtagh needs to be older and rugged. The Jaime shown looks too pretty! and not sure of the acting. I think this story would be better served as an HBO production. The director might be Peter Jackson or Ridley Scott. Also I could see Russell Crowe as Dougal.

But I do agree with Claire. I always kind of thought of Claire Forlani when I read the book (not b/c of the name even if that would be obvious -.-), I don't know why. But apperance onscreen would match with Claires apperance in the book.

For Geillis I always thought of Michelle Pfeiffer. I think she would be perfect but Cate Blanchett would fit in as well.

I love the rest of your "cast", especially Ian. In my imagination he's only a bit darker and slimmer, but the rest of hi...just right :)

Gabriel Aubry would be an awful choice. Sorry if that should offend any one but even if he might look exactly like the drawings that doesn't mean that he would be a good Jamie. Jamie is a warrior and doeans't look like a model from a glossy. He's got a rough beauty and a vikin-like presence, a larger-than-life-personality. Aubry is one-dimensional. I can't imagine him chipping wood let alone being a feared warrior. Along with Gerard Butler I would prefer Philip Winchester for Jamie Fraser.

Come on. This is supposed to be OUR book, right. If it's ever casted, well; unknown actors would make it our movie as well, an intriguing story on its own, not so hollywood. And isn't Claire supposed to be a realistic "pretty" with crazy curly hair? Geez, not some thin, super model, beautiful sort.
