  • hi when you first cut and paste one side of the apple the side of the apple you cut out turns the background translutent but when i do it it cuts the apple out but the background is white now i know this doesnt sound to bad but because of it when i warp the apple on the left side i can warp it fine but when i try to warp the right side the warp thing selectes the whole picture so i cant warp it ,it just looks weird. please help me thanks

I have pse 9 and am afraid that i have fallen at the first hurdle... I cannot find the 'warp' under the transform tab, and no others seem to look the same, is there any way around this? Thanks

  • when i click second times warp it select all image..help please:D

  • @dodkak i experienced the same problem..but I found a way out...just cut n paste the right half of the image in a similar way as u did the left side...paste it into a new layer...so u will now have

Layer 1 = right half of apple

Layer 2 = left half of apple

    Layer 3 = Background copy

Layer 4 = Original photo this did the trick for me.. hope it works for you as well...

Some advice would really be appreciated, thank you :)

By the way im a total photoshop noob

  • Nevermind :P

  • hold alt key while clicking on a spot that you want to clone, then your brush is a copy of that spot and you can paint that copy on whatever you like.

  • alt + click wer u want to copy from :)

  • Holad alt, then click and that then takes the sample of the bit you want to copy

  • you might be selecting the wrong layer

    happens to all of us

  • you need to hold "alt" and click over the area you want to clone from then move to the area you want copying to and hold down mouse button and move....

  • Hi Gavin, I'm using photoshop 8 and there is no warp command under Transform. is it hidden somewhere else? I'm dying to try the zipped apple effect!

  • Really good tutorial. And I agree with blackcobra1994 - it would be really good if you could do a tutorial with animals and stuff... Anyways, you are obviously really good with Photoshop. Well done!

  • Hi, I'm trying to find a picture of a zip, and i've even taken a pic of my own zip, but its impossible to get it to selct correctly. It would really appreciated if you could send me your photo of the zip.

  • Hey Gavin, just a question. Have you upploaded the apple you're using in this vid somewhere so it will be able to download?

By the way, you're grate man! Keep up the good work :)

  • Haha you are hoey.

  • could u send me those 2 pictures u used?

BTW, thanks for your collection of tutorials!

maybe u could make a tutorial how to add 2 animals to one like head of a fish and body of a dog?

  • Another great one, you are the King!! :)

  • Great video. One question though. Is this something that can be done in Elements 7?

  • Yes it can be done in Elements 7, but not all the tools I used are the same. For example Elements doesn't have warp, so use Transform - Distort instead.

Liquify on Elements doesn't have the option to view other layers, so it's a bit more hit & miss, but still possible to do.

  • Once again Great Job on your tutorial I am so impressed with your work

    Bill
