I saw the exact same thing yesterday. I was fascinated by it because I had always heard that fro a rainbow to appear the sun needed to be behind you for the rainbow to appear in front of you. In this case and the case of what I saw yesterday, both the sun and the rainbow were in front of me. I'm not sure what to think of it.
It's a form of cloud that's created in high altitudes in the mountains. Something about how hot and cold air meeting, forcing one of the masses high into the atmosphere. They're rare but look pretty weird. One of their nick names include 'UFO' clouds.

@chynash exactly. this is awesome footage of a rare view of a lenticular cloud. lenticulars are most frequently called ufos because they don't happen that often. conditions have to be just right. the only consistant footage of lenticulars can be over mount fuji. why are they not ufos? they dont move, oh, and they're clouds

It's a form of cloud that's created in high altitudes in the mountains. Something about how hot and cold air meeting, forcing one of the masses high into the atmosphere. They're rare but look pretty weird. One of their nick names include 'UFO' clouds.

it's the sun alright, don't think because it doesn't move when you do it's an UFO. rmbr, the sun is quite large. the "morphing" are clouds on the edge of the "flare". shutting out the light.

I used to think the cloudship ufo people were a bit off, until last week, I saw one, without a doubt the coolest thing I've ever seen, disguised as a cloud, an orb ship with lights to boot, it kept in one place while changing shape, morphing right before my eyes, I questioned what it was until I saw bright lights coming out of it.. wow!
