TD you are leaving out one very large and important part of Genesis. Not only did God rest and ceased from His work but the Bible goes on to say that He BLESSED and SANCTIFIED the seventh day. And there was not a Jew in existence at that time so it is not for the Jews. Further Jesus said it was made for MAN not the Jews. Hebrews 4:8, 9 (NB in the greek it is Jesus and not Joshua) is a bombshell to the argument of change from Seventh-day Sabbath to Sunday Lords day.

Jesus said the Sabbath was made for man and not man for the Sabbath. I will debate anyone who says the Sabbath is done away with. There were two laws, the book of law, and the moral law, which is the ten commandments. The book of law was blotted out, but the moral law still stands.

Grace is only effective if there is an established law. If there was no law then the cop could not let me off on grace because there would be no infraction. Furthermore, Hebrews 4 makes it extremely clear that there was no mandated change to the Sabbath. In addition, Isaiah 66:22,23 makes it clear that we will be worshiping God on the Sabbath. Before sin Sabbath (Gen 2:3), during sin the Sabbath (Ex 20:8-11), earth made new - the Sabbath (Is 66:22,23).
For those who say we are under grace and free from the law - why is there a need for grace if there is no infraction of the law. If the speed limit was abolished by the judiciary and I went speeding down the road tomorrow, I could not be pulled over by a cop for speeding because there is no law. However, if the judiciary says grace will be extended for speeding then if I decided to speed I could be pulled over but would not get a ticket for breaking the law because of grace.
It interesting to see all the quotes about how the law was done away with. First point - there are two laws - the Ten Commandments and the Mosaic laws. At the cross the Mosaic law was terminated. If we are no longer under the law and the Bible says sin is the transgression of the law (1John3:4). Therefore if there is no longer a law, by rationale there is no longer sin. James 2:10,11 says if we break one of the law then we break all - what law is James referring to seeing Jesus had died?

Bishop TD Jakes, while I'm sure he's a very well learned man, leaves out a very important part of Exodus 20. Jakes quotes Exodus 20:8. However, it was grossly taken out of context. I'm pretty sure that the rest of that verses, especially 9 and 10, refers to the future and what God requires of us now.

There is so much error preached from many church pulpits today. These ministers have now gotten so good at putting on shows. They love acclaim & praise; and they know just how to please the crowd. @rehzon Who told you Christ rose on Sunday. Our calender is Babylonian. All the days of the week are named after different " pagan gods". Example. Sunday- Day of the Sun(solar), Monday-Day of the Moon (lunar), Tuesday- Day of or Mars (tyre), Wednesday- Day of Venus, Thursday- Day of Jupiter, Friday- Day of Mercury, Saturday- Day of Saturn (saturnalia). Worship is a lifestyle. You can't worship God one day out of the week. It's a lifestyle, it has nothing to do with days. People get worshipping God, and praising God mixed up. Praise is what you do at church. Worship is your Godly lifestyle when your not at church. And those kind of Christians are very rare.

I know for a fact that Jesus said it was ok to heal on the Sabbath (Mathew 12:9).Now the conflicting part about it is the part about them being paid for the 7th day or every 7th day they have to work.That in a sense seems to be work, because work=money. I've been keeping the Sabbath since I was born. The Lord said that the Sabbath is hallowed and SANCTIFIED. It's like an anniversary in marriage. You have a relationship with the person on all days but the anniversary is the special day. So I do things- as long as it is God focused. It works for me. It doesn't necessarily work for everyone. But I believe you don't need to offend people. So what if I keep the Sabbath? I worship on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday too

TD you are leaving out one very large and important part of Genesis. Not only did God rest and ceased from His work but the Bible goes on to say that He BLESSED and SANCTIFIED the seventh day. And there was not a Jew in existence at that time so it is not for the Jews. Further Jesus said it was made for MAN not the Jews. Hebrews 4:8, 9 (NB in the greek it is Jesus and not Joshua) is a bombshell to the argument of change from Seventh-day Sabbath to Sunday Lords day.

There was no law.It states that on the seventh day Yahowah finished His work and rested. Jesus comes along and says His Father was still working, and had sent Him to"finish His work." The last thing Jesus said on the cross was, "it is finished". That Sabbath in the law , was just pointing to this age of salvation by Grace only, not works. Jesus did it all .

sad fact: Pastor Jakes is a clown, who, instead of searching the scriptures in hopes of finding eternal life, spends time securing his dollars by encouraging his mass congregation to mock strict Bible followers on the low. The Bible is clear in declaring the Ten Commandments to be continuous, holy, and valid today. If 10 commandments were dispelled, James 2 would have to be removed. Since it's not, the 4th commandment remains. There is no such thing as Remembering the 1st Day to keep it holy.

Grace is only effective if there is an established law. If there was no law then the cop could not let me off on grace because there would be no infraction. Furthermore, Hebrews 4 makes it extremely clear that there was no mandated change to the Sabbath. In addition, Isaiah 66:22,23 makes it clear that we will be worshiping God on the Sabbath. Before sin Sabbath (Gen 2:3), during sin the Sabbath (Ex 20:8-11), earth made new - the Sabbath (Is 66:22,23).

For those who say we are under grace and free from the law - why is there a need for grace if there is no infraction of the law. If the speed limit was abolished by the judiciary and I went speeding down the road tomorrow, I could not be pulled over by a cop for speeding because there is no law. However, if the judiciary says grace will be extended for speeding then if I decided to speed I could be pulled over but would not get a ticket for breaking the law because of grace.

It interesting to see all the quotes about how the law was done away with. First point - there are two laws - the Ten Commandments and the Mosaic laws. At the cross the Mosaic law was terminated. If we are no longer under the law and the Bible says sin is the transgression of the law (1John3:4). Therefore if there is no longer a law, by rationale there is no longer sin. James 2:10,11 says if we break one of the law then we break all - what law is James referring to seeing Jesus had died?

There is NO forgiveness for willfully breaking any one of the ten. You need a saviour. If you could do ANYTHING to save yourself, you don't need Jesus, and according to you doctrine, His death was unnecessary. Abraham had no Sabbath to keep. The law of the sabbath was 430 years after Abraham was reconned righteous by faith.

How do you know if you have sinned if there is no law? If there is no law to break then there is no sin, which is clearly not biblical (1 John 3:4) and all have sinned and come short...(Rm 3:23). Additionally, 1 John 2:4 speaks against your point. Last - we do not keep the Commandments to be saved but rather b/c we are saved.

God instructed us to keep the Sabbath day holy - consequently it is not merely works but obedience. If this is the age of grace why churches still frown on lying, stealing, committing adultery and the like. Don't THEY know that we are not condemned now being under grace? To deny one commandment but advocate respect to the others is an oxymoron...see James 2:10,11.

This book that is being spoken of is also referred to as the law of Moses, and also referred to as the law of God. This entire book was a witness against us that we are sinners in the eyes of God, that we've failed to walk in his perfect standard.
There are many sins not written of in the ten commandments, yet, they are still sins none-the-less. It doesn't just stop at the ten that shows you guilty before God, it goes right down to the smallest commandment written of in the book.

This is opinion. Fact is what the bible says not an interpretation. Sin broke the rest? Is that to say that God had His prophets document every single action God took? No, God only inspired His prophets to write that which was profitable to the reader. Each day was a literal 24 hour period therefore He only rested on the 7th Day. On the 8th day God did something that was not beneficial for us to know and therefore was not added to the Bible. Viewers, please STUDY your Bible in context!

Bishop TD Jakes, while I'm sure he's a very well learned man, leaves out a very important part of Exodus 20. Jakes quotes Exodus 20:8. However, it was grossly taken out of context. I'm pretty sure that the rest of that verses, especially 9 and 10, refers to the future and what God requires of us now.

There is so much error preached from many church pulpits today. These ministers have now gotten so good at putting on shows. They love acclaim & praise; and they know just how to please the crowd. And when I see how Christians subscribe to all this error, it hurts. But the bible tells us to expect it. For Matt 7:13 says that, broad is the way that leads to destruction while narrow is the way that leads to life. And according to Jesus himself, there be few that find this narrow path.

Sunday- Day of the Sun(solar), Monday-Day of the Moon (lunar), Tuesday- Day of or Mars (tyre), Wednesday- Day of Venus, Thursday- Day of Jupiter, Friday- Day of Mercury, Saturday- Day of Saturn (saturnalia). Babylonia tried to mix Christianity and Sun worship. Unfortunately, a lot of those traditions have stayed with the church. Like Easter

Worship is a lifestyle. You can't worship God one day out of the week. It's a lifestyle, it has nothing to do with days. People get worshipping God, and praising God mixed up. Praise is what you do at church. Worship is your Godly lifestyle when your not at church. And those kind of Christians are very rare.

One of the problems with Seventh-day Adventism is Saturday worship. They are certainly free to worship on Saturday. That is not unbiblical. However, the problem is when any Seventh-day Adventist group asserts that the proper day of worship is Saturday, not Sunday. The early church practiced worship on Sunday and the scriptures mention the church gathering on Sunday, the same day Jesus rose:

If you read the Bible entirely you can see that the verse Jakes uses about not holding one day higher than the other is NOT referring to the Sabbath. There were Jewish holidays that were being referred to. Read ya Bible sometimes :-)

What text does TD use to collect tithes and offerings? Is tithing not a burden he ought to relieve of his congregation? See these preachers cherry pick what they want. Note all points non-Sabbath keepers use against the Sabbath are more powerful against tithes which these preachers collect every Sunday. Why was tithes, a ritual performed during the festivals is not included in Colossians 2: 12-17? Think about tithes doctrine when you dispute the validity of the Sabbath.

YOU should honor God Everyday. Jesus Healed a man on the sabbath day, and the "pharisees" had a problem with it and accused him of "working" on the sabbath Mark 3 : 1-6 . What would that make Jesus? It's about a deeper revelation in essence remeber the sabbath and keep it holy means to always honor God no matter what day of the week. It's just like the debate of eating certain foods when its what comes OUT of your mouth that makes you unholy rather than what you eat.

Forward to '52 second" mark in this clip. Jakes admits that Saturday "technically is the correct Sabbath Day", but he has chosen to worship on Sunday. However, he is still wrong. Shabbot begins on SUNDOWN Friday evening through SUNDOWN on Saturday. I grew up with a Jewish family and am Messianic.

I know for a fact that Jesus said it was ok to heal on the Sabbath (Mathew 12:9).Now the conflicting part about it is the part about them being paid for the 7th day or every 7th day they have to work.That in a sense seems to be work, because work=money. Look am not sure and I don't want to sound too legalistic about the whole thing.This part had me puzzled. My advice is to seek a minister just in case.

I've been keeping the Sabbath since I was born. The Lord said that the Sabbath is hallowed and SANCTIFIED. It's like an anniversary in marriage. You have a relationship with the person on all days but the anniversary is the special day. So I do things- as long as it is God focused. It works for me. It doesn't necessarily work for everyone. But I believe you don't need to offend people. So what if I keep the Sabbath? I worship on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday too

I belive it's a matter of Choice as TD J. is saying, because the day of rest when Jesus said "it's finished" was actually Friday. then we are all guilty.
the Lords day of rest and of our bodies is in Heaven not on earth, when body of Christ get together in marriage forever.

There is only ONE Sabbath that is Holy to the Lord and only One Sabbath that was made Holy at creation and only One Sabbath Day to remember and that my friends IS the 7th day. Now go look at your calender and you will see that the 7th day is Saturday, NOT Sunday. There is no scriptural reference to any change in God's Law! If he can show me even one scriptural reference I will gladly observe Sunday. Yes, I do worship God on all day's but only ONE day of the week is sacred time with God!

There is no where in the Bible that says Sunday is the new sabbath or that the seventh day sabbath was done awasy with. This guy is not teaching the Bible, he's making up his own doctrine

the new testement Jesus disciples was picking berries from the tree which was unlawful on the sabbath but Jesus said isnt it good to to do right..... also the sabbath was a law and Jesus said he has come to redeemed those under the law But when the time had fully come, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under law, to redeem those under law, that we might receive the full rights of sons.- galations 4

You misunderstand, it is by grace we are saved through faith and not of the law, does that mean we are free to sin?? No!!
Through faith in Jesus our goal is to become like him, Jesus did not remove the law he magnified it:
Matt 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
[18] For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Are you so certain he said that? THe people were also told to "remember" the day that they were taken out of Egypt and that on that day they were not to eat any leavened bread.

The Sabbath is not just a day of worship as are all days of the week, it's a day of rest, no working, buying or selling, a day between you and the Lord, a day to show the Lord that you are his, a day to be regenerated physically and mentally, a day on which to remove worldly thoughts from your mind and give yourself to the Lord.
Why do so many Christians find this amusing? It is written!!

I can find rest anyday and not buy sell or do all the other stuff u mentioned but if i dont have Jesus and im just keeping this commandment and not the others then were in danger if hell anyways no matter what day u keep holy...

How can you claim to have Jesus when it's Jesus that gave us this day, told us to keep this day, kept this day himself, warned us about the future in keeping this day and through one of his prophets told us that we will keep it in heaven and on the new earth??
You can make up any excuses you like, it still doesn't negate the fact that it is the day that God picked and not you!!
You have free will, make your choice God or man!!
