The Goal keeper is produced by Signaal Aparatum of Holland and General Electric of the USA. It consists of an electric turret with dedicated search and track radars capable of updating target information 60 times a minute. It is a 30mm gattling gun capable of firing at the rate of 4200 RPM and targeting and engaging is on a threat priority basis. There is a technical video on youtube that tells you all about Goal keeper, who manufactured it, capabilities and future production.
Yup, its the American GAU-8 Avenger as used by the A-10 Warthog mated to a Dutch system. personally i prefer this CIWS being a 30mm to the Phalanx with its 20mm Vulcan..
@fairclought7 the 20mm you get less dispersion of the projectiles making it more accurate as well as the amount of ammunition that can be stored is far less as well as the variety of projectiles to select from is far greater than the 30mm
The concept is Dutch. The ammunition for the gun was made in the Netherlands, but not anymore. The gun, is an American catling gun! So it's not as Dutch, as the Dutch would think!
@wiganerrmc he ment this particular weapon and radarsystems used by many navy's today comes from holland (or the dutch) the latest intergrated radar systems are all dutch inventions. like you said the actual radar technology comes from ww1
@wiganerrmc V1 was WW2 and it wasn't RADAR guided. German produce Wire guided bombs and radio controlled bombs during the war but their RADAR sets were too bulky and had too large a wavelength for use in bombs and missiles. First RADAR equipped munition would be the VT shell, British tech with US application and industry but that was a proximity detection rather than guidance
I will take 2 of the goalkeepers and a huge bag of skunk, and i will be happy.

The ammo is German, the gun is designed by America, and the radar system/software/brains comes from the Dutch. :)

Makes me sad. :-(
