@nightsauce That is the continuous output rating for the motor. As he said it was capable of 1000 amps for 10 seconds(which would be peak power) and the voltage is 144 volts(12 -12volt batteries.) That is about 193 Peak HP. After losses it's probably closer to 140-150WHP. Considering it was a budget build that's not too bad. It's not a big power beast, and likely more expensive than just building a SR20DET but it's 3x as efficient, very quiet, and low maintenance. YMMV

@Trukillaog Nah. He should go the diy li-ion battery packs. I heard A123 Systems makes the best li-ions out on the market. Just get the ones from something mass produced(electric drill batteries) and make your own battery packs.

I mean, the power is instantaneous, no clutch, no waiting, nothing but instant shreaded tires! haha I can't wait for these conversions to gain more popularity! I'd gladly sell my semi-built SR20DET for a nasty electric swap! Given, more weight, BUT oodles of torque along with it. haha I'd trade my 350rwhp/ 328TQ for an electric engine with say 200whp/1500TQ! hahahaha It's easily possible. Charge won't last long though. lol

he should of used lithium lead batteries smaller, quicker to charge greater range except the cost is a shit load and i think they only last 10 years so in average life span you would need 5 to 6 sets and the more you buy the better miles you get.

Gerry had already gone the engine swap route. He yanked out the swapped engine for the electrics. There can be huge torque in an electric motor and huge potential for electric drift cars.

Wow. That's what I would like to do. The best part is that the car is very clean and he did an outstanding job of explaining his project.

And 50 klm is a little low but, I wouldn't complain. I mean they are just regular AGM batteries, not the expensive lithium ion, but you got to start some where when your on a budget and that's where I would start.

this is great and all but I want some more number. How fast can it go? 0-60 time? how many miles can you squeeze out of it driving eco? Does it slow down when the battery gets low? How much do the batteries cost to replace? Whats there average life? How much does this cost? Are there actual net savings here? Anyway, cool car! Instant torque must be awesome!
