7th grade and she made me scared to death of drug addiction, ....she went through alot.

@shanellsplace Agreed. Her book Little Girl Lost is a great read--never a dull moment. I'm sure she would be gratified if she knew that it helped you at a susceptible age. I've read about the struggles members of her family went through with addiction, especially John Barrymore (Sr.) and his daughter Diana Barrymore. Their addictions led to their early deaths. I'm very grateful that Drew conquered the "Barrymore curse" that eventually destroyed the lives of certain of her ancestors.

@coldbluerain I remember that interview! It was shortly after her book was released, and I remember her smoking a cigarette on the show. Arsenio gave her a hard time about it, and she said she had given up everything else and it was her only vice. Haha. I loved her so much! ♥

One can tell that using drugs and alcohol weakened her a bit during her teens. But lo and behold, she became a charming, outspoken star regardless and by the looks of her later interviews, she's as healthy and happy as they get. Long live Drew!

@OropherThranduil She never said she was sober. She said in a recent interview that she never stated that she was sober, but that she learned how to drink & do things in moderation. Take with that as you will.

i actually think the only problem was she had no parental guidance, her father was away, her mother was that business mom, she had no friends her age and felt alienated because she had no father, people on the streets were treating her like an alien and always wanted to touch her take photos, if that would have been my child, or better sister, i'm 18 i would have went with her to the partys to make sure she's doing well, just look at dakota fannign, her parents are right.

I think that she does romantic comedies, because she's comfortable with them. She had also done some contreversial roles, and is definately not afraid to go outside the guide lines. People forget what a good actress she is... like in "Riding in Cars With Boys".
