  • how can i make my crappy walmart bmx bike faster i want to change out the gears or sumthing

  • you forgot to shave=)))))))))))))))

  • why do you talk so fast?

  • Wow... That was fast.

  • You talk fast

  • I just removed the ring but the cog wont budge!

  • @lordmemnochthedevil it can be stubborn but take it to a shop if its not moving hopefully your hubs not stripped

  • it diden work for my bike

  • so if i have a free wheel can i still put in a fixed cog and lock ring or do i have to have a flip flop hub? somebody please reply

  • @dyskodroneszOFFICIAL

if its a freewheel from road bike, then no

you need a flip flop hub for fg/ss

  • 1:02

  • Yes, you do sound like you like to put it between your legs. Your words not mine.

  • hi mikes.is that possible to change rear fixed gear cog on flip-flop type hub?

  • dude slow down your talking like its the end of the world

  • nice vid. Your annotation didn't work for me.

  • Actually, you could just rotate the wheel instead of the cog to adjust your skid spot.........

  • i dont ride a fixie but im trying to remove a freewheel cog from the hub and it was put on backwards and i have no idea how to take it off.ideas please???

  • @RyVo2ALL umm even with a freewheel remover and chain whip it still won't?

  • Dis helpd:)... But da thing i wna know is if u can also pu da old gear teeth on it like only using one of da many teeth???? Idk if u get me????

  • This was good and useful info, however I don't see the need to speed through it so fast. Where's the fire? ;-)

  • mikes bike can u tell me what the wheel u r using in this video and how much are they

  • @Koreatownfun its a mavic lo pro rim laced to dura ace hubs, they run about $450 new

  • How do you change you fixed gear hub

  • @fastboy8o8 u have to take apart and re-assemble the whole wheel

  • mikes bikes ! can you please explain about coaster brakes?

  • Is there any different way to take off a cog?? I don't have the tools for it. And i'm running a 46x17. would u say thats a good ratio to ride with?

  • @dagger4000 no using the tools best safest way to remove it without possibly damaging something

  • belas ferramentas!!! hehehe

  • Is 47/17 good for hills? I run a 44/16 and jst realized how bad it is on the slightest hump :-/ maybe you have a cog size that will go w/my 44t chainring.

Btw, keep the videos coming. Quick an informative, awesome

  • @rammstein1388 thats same gear ratio if you look at a chart, cause one cog size in the back smaller is like getting a front chainring thats 3 teeth bigger, and thanks

  • If i buy a new rear sprocket will i need a new lockring or can i use the old one i have?

  • @TehViiBe as long as its in good shape you can reuse it

  • @SenorDingles i had a question, mine now is 46x16 everytime i skid the lockring is always come off from the cog,any suggestion ?

  • @ufince it might be stripped

  • @SenorDingles do i need to joint to the hub ?

  • my lockring does not have noches how do i get it off?

    pleas respond

  • @JarodTurman I have no clue all lockrings should have notches

  • @SenorDingles i had a question, mine now is 46x16 everytime i skid the lockring is always come off from the cog,any suggestion ?

  • I ride 50/13 smash or whuttttt

  • Whats the nameof that tool i have a park to hcw-5 lockring spanner is that the right tool or did i order the wrong tool help

  • my cog is huge. lol get it?

  • were you on speed

you talked faster than a 14 year old gypsie girl

  • do all cogs fix the same drivers???????? please i need to know?!

  • @chiloness I dont understand the question sorry

  • You could just get a front brake. Just sayin'

  • Fucking awesome!! Thanks for the vid

  • Great video, thanks! Love the fast talking, nice to be able to get the idea quickly.

  • You have to stop talking that fast, i gotta pause it every 5 seconds to understand!

  • @TheDevilkillah you can also wear your underwear on the outside, but that's just retarded.

  • HEY!!!!! MIKE I FOUND YOU ON LAFIXED:O

  • Hmmmmmmmm

    A shirt that fits.

  • i got same cog and lockring like u :) it cost alot but it last longer than anoter cog x)

  • right now im at 46 16 in az where its mostly flat but im moving up to tacoma washington so im thinking 17 or 18 in the back?? I need help thanks

  • @SSkmo might wanna try to get a rear wheel with a fixed fixed hub so you can run 17 and 18 cogs at the same time for when you need it

  • hey i need help my brother kilo tt over laps his XL clips his rim and he switch the fork for a straight one but it still hits anyways idea how it wont over lap?!

  • @XxKILL3R27xX Get smaller clips, smaller tire, smaller front wheel, shorter cranks, new fork with higher rake angle/ more trail yielding a longer wheelbase.

Any of the above would do. Had the same problem

  • @XxKILL3R27xX all the things Minced said are true, but pretty much all track geometrys will have toe overlap because of the short wheelbase. I wouldnt suggest smaller cages cause those need to be the correct size to hold your foot in, to small and your foot could slip out. My c dale has insane toe overlap but youll learn how to get used to it. when making tight turns lift your toes up and heel down so that itll clear the wheel

  • @SenorDingles thanks man and nice video when's the next one you should talk about hubs cranks rims on your next if you want but make a new video oh and when you go bike riding record it:D haha

    \

  • you should run 48 17

  • @XxKILL3R27xX i might eventually

  • @XxKILL3R27xX why 48 17? im trying to figure out what ratio i should use

  • @vietprodigy91 you have more skid patches so you 17 skid patches so your tire would last longer and you mash

  • @XxKILL3R27xX i just checked my bike, its got 48 16. 1 skid patch. I think i need a new sized sprocket. hows the riding with 48 17, I was thinking 48 19 would be cool.

  • @vietprodigy91 Well Personally I think Riding On 48 17 i prefer it, it rides smooth I can't put my word on 48 19 i have no idea how it rides but a lot of people i met ride 48 17, 46 17 or 49 17 And Enjoy it

  • how about switching my 5 year old's Trek Jet 16 from the 19t rear so he can go faster at the citizen velodrome races? The front is 26t. Is this an easy change? Is it a standard cog? Nice Vid.....

  • what should i run if i want a high top speed !?!?!?!??! a 46 16? PLEASE REPLY

  • @ifairlady18 The lower number tooth cog in back and higher tooth cog in front will give you high top end. Its usually cheaper to change the rear cog, so buy a smaller one and try it out

  • or umm well here's wat i wanna do. i love speed so im thinking about changing the chainring to a 50 t and leaving the cog the same, is that good? HELP ME!!

  • @ivanwarlord id say try a 49 t chainring but yea gear ratio is all up to you on what you like you gotta try a few to find what you like

  • @SenorDingles true dat, thanks for your help man. your an awesome dude

  • @ivanwarlord no problemo

  • ic, what would be the ideal ratio?

  • @ivanwarlord it depends on what you prefer really, I run 47 17 you gotta see if you want something more aggressive then you have or easier then pick a ratio based on that with more skid patches

  • btw... im having trouble trying to skid stop, any suggestions on what i should do? i have a fuji feather with 700x 25c wheels, everything on the bike is still stock, i didnt change the cog or lockring at all so.. ye

  • @ivanwarlord honestly it takes practice to get it down, the ratio for that bike is 46 16 so it does have a low number of skid patches, you might wanna change your gearing to more skid patch friendly ratio

  • ur talking at the speed of light man ahha

  • @ivanwarlord haha yea i tend to talk fast for my videos

  • I believe it is a regular cervelo road frame, tried to look up the serial number to get more info on it, to no avail, got a wicked deal on it with a carbon time fork...

using a chain tensioner because it has vertical dropouts..

but the alignment is off by a few mm... it works great as is, but im sure if the chain was perfectly straight it would be super quiet, not to mention put less wear on it and the cog/sprocket

thanks for the help... ill go look into some different bb lengths and see

  • @gmkellykim ooo i know why now its cause ur using a road frame, the rear spacing for a road frame is 130mm and track frames are 120mm, u can try running your chainring on the inside of the crankarm to try to align it better, but it might rub on the frame depending on how many tooth ur chainring is, id recomend getting a real track frame you could sell it and get a nice frame

  • I am trying to figure out how to get a better chain line, or how to set up the chain line properly? can i try to adjust the dish on my rear wheel to make it line up with the cog line up with the crank sprocket properly?

  • @gmkellykim you need to check online and see what size spindle your crankset needs and make sure ur bottom bracket is the same length thats usually how chainline gets off, are you using a track frame?

  • is it possible to ride on a 25/17 ratio?

  • @WERDOME yea but ud spin out super fast so unless its like a cyclocross or trick ratio i wouldnt recommend it for the street

  • Good fast editing without any bullshit. Very informative. Subbed.

  • @Poland1st Thanks man i try to keep it fun and imformative and not boring

  • Nice vids i have a question? What is a good ratio for tricking and mashing? And would a ratio of 48/13 be a good ratio?

  • hey mike, what's your curent wheelset? i see you sold your HED 3 :/ haha

  • @CHiSCOSViDEOS dura ace hubs laced to mavic open pros

  • ok so what if i want to remove the freewheel cog ring? cuz i only use fixie, can it be possible to remove the freewheel and just leave it like that or replace it with a smaller fixie cog?

  • @cvelizh you cant put a fixed cog on freewheel side of the hub since there isnt a place for lockring to sit

  • @SenorDingles ok thanks alot man but can i just remove the freewheel cog? cuz it looks dumb lol

  • @cvelizh yea haha if you dont use it

  • @SenorDingles well thats the reason why i want to remove it since i dont use it. Thank you man! =D

  • @cvelizh hhahah no problemo

thanks for the MIkes bikes love and support

  • Mike, I know how to save tools and weight for you !

There's a tool called SHIMANO TL-SR22 Lockring Tool and COG tool in one.

It's a bit pricey, but it's simple, effective, weight saver, and space saver ! Just add some links to the chain if you have a big ass COG such as 20-23, anything below a 19 will do just fine.

Also let me know if you are selling any track frames/wheels, I'm around LA, so let me know !

  • @TheOldStoryLine thanks man ive heard of that tool but dont own one, and im gonan be selling a NJS bike im restoring soon cause i dunno if ill have enough money to finance finishing the project

  • cool

  • haha do you ever breath haha jk thx

  • @GBRO94 i edit breathing out ahah

  • will a higher gear ratio affect how easy or difficult it will be to sitting skid? Also, can you do a tutorial on whip/skip/sitting skids?

  • @yp7004 Yea it does in my opinion. and i might in the future its just i need a camera man for that kind of video

  • @SenorDingles Mike, I'm looking to buy a Fuji Track Pro (2010) frame, and was wondering how it rides and a general review of it in regards to riding it on the street. I found that the frame and fork are much cheaper than Bianchi super pista, cinelli vigorelli/mash, etc. and was wondering will I eventually want to upgrade to those or will i be satisfied to ride the FTP for a while? (Also, are you selling your HED 3 clincher anytime soon?)

  • @yp7004 i loved the frame it was super solid feeling, it was a little heavier then my older FTP cause the seatpost is one piece but it feels so much better and i liked geo alot better, and I sold HED sorry haha

  • @SenorDingles Thanks for the info, and great job with the videos...

  • 46x14 is the best try it!

  • Thanks mike that's your name right?? this was really helpful, now I don't need to go to a bike shop and pay them to do the job =D

  • @cvelizh thats what i like to here

  • sweet!

  • keep up the nice vids man!

  • @kwonrilla thanks man

  • Missing the link for gear ratios?

But what's the best ratio for just nailing it round the roads in my local town? nice and relaxed but getting some pace up.

  • @luketurner998cc Thanks for looking out its up now, and its preference really you gotta try different ones out, i like my ratio alot

  • what is the best ratio for street speeding?

  • @ongne1234 I like to ride at a higher rpm i ran 46x17, 49x18 and 47x17 I think 47x17 is best all around ratio

  • im running 46x17 at the moment but i really want to go up to 48x17

  • @werty13z go for it and save your old chainring and if you dont like it you can swap it back

  • or you need to tighten it up because its way too lose!
