@BlackAshIndependence The lack of unmasked Sub-Zero is acceptable since the ninja Sub-Zero is basically just him with the ninja suit (the older Sub-Zero is still there as Noob Saibot). In the N64 version they just combined his MKII moves with his MK3 moves, that's all. This makes the N64 version of Sub-Zero the most powerful version of a Sub-Zero there ever was of any MK games ever existed.

When you think about it, Smoke using Scorpion's moves is rather strange seeing as Smoke is (was?) an agent of the Lin Kuei. Stuff like kunai attached to a rope isn't really a Chinese technique.

Takeda left the Lin Kuei cuz he despise their way of conduct so he went to create the new Shirai Ryu clan, the same clan Scorpion belongs to. It is believe that Smoke studied the kunai move under Takeda before he left the Lin Kuei.

How come all you guys that review MKT on N64 never enable stereo sound in the options menu? It's listed as 'pan control'. You set it to l/r and not only is the music in stereo, but there's awesome left/right positional audio of all character sounds, much like in MK3 on the SNES. It sounds fantastic.

You have to "turtle" and counter-attack with Sub-Zero to be effective , while Kabal players always keep you guessing and are not limited to one style of playing.

@modewr I don't turtle, I usually do more of a poking style (even though Sub isn't a poker, it can still be done) and then since most people try to use arials to get around the pokes I use the slide move to counter since it has a higher priority than most arieals. I wouldn't say Mortal Kombat Trilogy was a REAL game because it combined EVERYTHING from Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat II, Mortal Kombat 3, and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. However, I enjoy playing this because it's a fan's imagination from the previous installments put together in front of you. It's only weird because the female ninja counterpart, Khameleon, replaced the male ninja counterpart, Chameleon, in some of the consoles. However, comparing the two shows they're basically the same :O.

PSX had the quantity, N64 version had the quality, but u could argue the the quantity of the psx version out scores the quality in the n64 version. It wasnt like a really big noticeable difference, it just had better load times, rain probably had an extra note to his scream, thats it.

Its like playing a totally different game - The PSX version had a totally different character list, which included bosses, while this version scrapped the bosses, and added a girl version of chamelion.

yes she is exclusive to n64 as are a bunch of strange added moves and backgrounds, also things like uppercutting people through three floors. New subzero is not here but all his moves are given to original sub zero, So the guys packed with ice moves. Still finding stuff different for n64 trilogy a week after getting it, I owned the psx one for ages.
