  • i remember moers

  • Sounds vaguely Turkish. I think in time any creative artist tires of repeating his cheap tricks - whether musician, painter, writer or whatever and longs to break from the constraints of form and find something new and fresh and spontaneous. Sometimes he's lucky, sometimes not. In this 'altered state' what emerges is to a greater or lesser degree the energy of the collective unconscious as Jung would term it - a return to the Massa Confusa.

  • dere geliyor dere...

  • I was lucky enough to see them tour as Skeleton Crew around this time (@ Reed College). Great concert!

  • they were playing this very tune superfast on the last tours from 85-86

  • gifted, truly

  • What a beautiful melody. I see below that it's a turkish song. Fred, Tom: They made some of my favorite music ever.

  • they were good

  • Obvious here which one is the more accomplished string player, but I like Fred's crazy melody line.

  • Keep on scraping

  • Skeleton Crew's live performances were non-idiomatic improvisation at its best. Brilliant musicians. RIP Tom

  • Cheers to the late great Tom Cora...brilliant!

  • as a duo they were better i think than later with zeena

  • On the Lp that I have they were called Skeleton Crew. great stuff!

  • They were 2 one-man-bands, with the drum kit split between them, each playing their respective instruments at the same time, singing, and also playing pre-recorded cassettes of recorded speech. I remember, at one point, Frith was playing his guitar, hitting a cymbal with the headstock, holding a drumstick in his picking hand which he used to play a tom, and operating a kick drum pedal as well... all while singing. Truly insanely awesome.

  • Name of the Song : "Dere Geliyor Dere" an old traditionnal from turkye

  • A great little part of the XXth century musical history... thanks for having posted this unexpected gem !

  • "Learn to Talk" is a brilliant album. If you can find it, get it.
