  • was she in that test? : )

  • You think AMERICA is stupid? You wanna know what is REALLY stupid? The fact that you waste your life hating a country. You see, us Americans have better things to do than this. Wanna know why? Because we have LIVES. Some Americans are stupid, not all of them. You should know that... oh wait ONLY SMART PEOPLE would know THAT.

  • When i look at Her,i agree with this test.

  • Well thats average in math and above average in the other categories. No biggy. Shanghai was #1 for all of them.

  • @hopper11995 (shanghai isn't a counrty. it's a city)

  • Bullshit, there's no way those scores were that high.

  • watch when perry will turn maths into 63 out of 64

  • ha ha fellas, im from eSTONIA

  • you probably came 32nd bcus you call it 'math'

  • I'd tap it, and she purdy funny.

  • _l_

  • Canada.... WHAT??!

  • if that isn't enough by 2030 the American human development index will be lower than Slovenia

  • i think the girl couldnt even read the letter because america dindnt came in 32 and 21 but came in last every time :P

  • "Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid."

    — Albert Einstein

US educational system is flawed. From moving from side of my town to the other, I went from being average level, to being told I needed to skip a grade.

  • Blame the fluoride in your water supply!

  • I absolutely LOVE this video! *lol*

1:24!!! I only waited for Poland to be listed but I actually didn't believe you would mention us *evil grin*

    Do przodu, Polsko!

    And Estonia! :D

Nice you can laugh at yourself. Here in Poland we can't.

  • I have an idea! If we spend even LESS money on public education, we could make MORE bombs, allow corporations to take over education (they'd get taxpayer money, pick just the smartest students so that their schools perform well and yes, squeeze profit, profit, profit out of the "better" education).

It would also be best if the shrinking middle class would pay for "school vouchers" to give the wealthy ANOTHER tax break for their kids in school.

Then let's chant; "USA! Voting doesn't matter".

  • Many Americans dismiss the scientific evidence of evolution, geology and cosmology simply because it conflicts with their stupid book of mythology. Peoples, especially minorities, will begin to value an education when religion is repudiated.

  • it's because all the illegals here !

  • american dummmmmmmmmmmmmb

  • @TheBanaphsh man i think we are retarted i though "dumb" was spell "bdum" :(

  • LMFAO!

  • The only stupid thing im seeing here, is the woman talking, shes just making herself look like an idiot.

  • she looks a bit retarded, not to say full she looks a blody moron

  • Really woman can't you just call it the USA, and not embarrass the entire country and yourself by calling it The US of A all the time? I can't even continue to watch this after the first 18 seconds because this woman is acting like a 12 year old, who's parents just ignored them and let them do whatever... I don't think the over enthusiasm can make up for our constantly dropping test scores.

  • @freedomboy96 lol @ Witch

  • Wait a second ;-)

There ist something you should know: PISA ONLY tested 15 year olds, that are IN SCHOOL. There were tests with the american teens of 15, no matter wether at school or not. According to those studies the USA are amongst the last three countries - almost all others have a general schooling duty and almost 100% of the 15 year olds at school. The USA is on average on the level of Brazil - a developing country ;-)

  • Comment removed

  • @level242 Are you serious? You need to get a life....

  • Poland is part of Europe...and is next door to Germany....so yeah there pretty smart other there.

  • @freedomboy96 Really? Youre speaking for the whole nation of Canada? Fairly presumptuous on your part. America's done a lot of good for the world, wouldnt you say thats a fair statement?

  • @ConservativeTimes: I second that. I hate it when people speak as if they're representing their country, when in reality it's just their opinion. I don't think any country is better than any other and nowadays, we shouldn't be talking about how much good each individual country has brought to the world, but rather thinking of all of the countries as a whole... but I guess thats never gonna happen :/

  • @freedomboy96 Thats not very nice, we love our Candian neighbors...

  • you spelt america is not the stupiderest.... are you american?.... :D lol jk americans are pree smart

  • we americans are so stupid that we have the power to nuke the whole world

  • @paulinotou Scares the sh*t outta me too...

  • Also I find it a bit funny to see USA speak about other people stealing their technology when it was, next to Russia, arguably the biggest stealer of technology and intelligence as such in the previous century.

  • @GlendaBeckk

:-) LOL that was well done. Hehe... but well, the former USSR regions always had a hard thrill in education (and western Europe isn't the worst either).

As the rule say 'idiots are distributed equally' around the world. LOL But it is a clear sign that a country should invest more money into education... and less into military.

    thx

  • I blame the mass amount of goofy religious dogma that is permeating our society for the high degree of stupid in America.

It is now in such abundance that large numbers of Americans now reject Science completely.

Slick anti-Science organizations like The Discovery Institute use religion to make people reject things like Evolution, Geology, Atomic Theory and the like which only makes it harder on those who educate.

Science flies you to the moon.

    Religion flies you into buildings.

  • @TalladegaTom Well said! I have witnessed this rejection of science but also know many children love science. Their parents/caregivers discourage or outright scoff at scientific theories because of religious reasons.

  • I wanna what countries scored worse than the US cos I feel really sorry for those countries

  • I am Polish and I hate communism - had lots of people in my family killed under the regime. UNFORTUNATELY I MUST ADMIT that there's one thing communism left us, and that's a great educational system (apart from History and "social" teachings of course), that - MOREOVER - with these new "freedom" times is being gradually destroyed.

I always thought that emancipation from communism will improve the things - instead I see that a chance for good education is given only to the richest.

  • Education, the key to success.... lose that and you've literally lost it... welcome to the third world America....

By the way most of the nations beating the US have national health plans, free education, advanced social welfare and are just plain 'better' to live in...

Of course if you don't have a frame of reference cos you never heard of those countries...cos you never got edu-macated! well... what can I say?

  • Its the Mexicans bringing us down....thats a fact.

    *I AM NOT RACIST.

  • @Llamaboy22222 The OECD results take cultural and average literacy, education levels into account. I think its the insistence on not being able to reason because you're not taught how that works is the primary reason...

eg. 50% of American think the sun goes around the earth

    Source: NAS

53% think the earth is under 10k years old

    Source NAS

Thats not too good is it?

Anyway... I'm in Ireland... and you're loss is my gain... keep up the idiocy!

  • @MumblingMickey That had nothing to do with my post. You couldn't have made that comment without Americans. 'Nuff said. Btw im Irish too you dip.

*your loss...not you're loss. You're is short for you are. Your is used if something belongs to someone. Nice one dumbass you just got corrected by an American you must be like retarded or something.

  • @Llamaboy22222 seriously...correcting my grammer... how old are you? if I decided dat txt spk was ok wud dat mak my comment any less factual? I think you are more than free to go on happily insisting all is okay... long may that continue...

  • WOOOOOOWHOOOOOOO POOOOOLAAAAAAND!!!!!IN YOUR FACE IN YOUR FACE YA'LL.

  • freaking stupids you all!!!!

  • omg in québec (canada) we need 13 years of education and americans need 12 and they are smarter than us?

  • lol that is fucking stupid, USA is the best country in the world, in the G8 is the most powerful country in all earth, so shut up you socialist 3rth world assholes ;D

  • @sebasg80 USA is not the most powerfull. they are tied with russia thats why they dont fuck with the russians and if you dont beleave me look up "superpowers" and the cold war.

  • @sebasg80 excellent... judging by your comments and others you guys still think all is okay...and that there is no problem at all and no solution needed.. Thats really super news..

Can I give you some advice? Since US education is better than anywhere else then obviously there's no need to put any more money or resources into it in these hard economic times. After all how can one improve on perfection.

In the meantime the rest of us, more lowly than you...will need to catch up.. (titter)

  • Wow. So sad that America, which prides itself on being the greatest country in the world, is not even in the top 10 nations in reading, mathematics, and science.

  • Jeeez there's nothing worse than a white girl who can't pull off a ghetto attitude and talk convincingly. She's pathetic

  • @SpazChat Hey troll, why don't you put up some of your own videos.

  • I'm from Estonia so stfu with your geto attitude biaaatch lol

  • Its simple why Canada did better than us, they have less people!!! Which means less students to teach and more time can be spent with each student. The Chinese beat us because they have a lot of people, which means there's more teachers!! Duh!!

  • @crazyfool8839 chineeeeese are made in vagina so they don't count as people, all Asians are robots in my book I was made by wooden prick named JAckass brickdickenwood good name I carry on with my jabba jubba loco pineapple give me some candle and matches and your ass loaded with natural gas.lets get the camp fire fired up uhuuu

  • @crazyfool8839 wait so your excuse for canada beating you is they have less people but then you say china beat you cause they had more???

  • @crazyfool8839 I see why americans are considered dumb, that didnt even make sense...

  • @doomsun3 That was my intention. American has some of the brightest people in the world and don't you ever forget that.

  • @crazyfool8839 im not saying america is dumb, im just saying alot of people consider americans as dumb people. yes america has had smart people no denying that, just that in fact american students dont do as good in the subjects as other countries students do

  • @doomsun3 Where in the world do I start? There are so many mistakes in your grammar and thought. The results of the test are dependant upon many factors, not only the intelligence of the people taking the test. Who is conducting the test and what are their motives? What is being tested, who is being tested. As you can see there is much more to the story then meets the eye. The sheep can be easily misled so don't believe everything you hear and question everything you read.

  • @crazyfool8839 motives? why would anyone bother wasting time to alter test results, everyone is being tested on practically the same thing, and yes the people taking the test is important, thats why some people did better than other people.

  • @crazyfool8839 In fairness I think the OECD results can be trusted.... and trying to apologise them away is fine, you are free to believe whatever you like... but you will only end up with a false sense of security there!

  • I just love these yankee retards who post on here...

Why do I say retarded? Complete DENIAL of the facts,EVEN AFTER TOLD OF THEM!

    RETARDS

  • Hey glenda! This one hits a nerve with me. You have to remember that these are averages. there are a lot of reasons the US have a low average. some of them not too politcally correct. Some of our major cities have graduation rates under 50%:Detroit, Balt., New York, , Cleveland, Los Angeles, Miami, Dallas, Denver and Houston.

With regard to just the science portion, if you look at just the % of kids at the hoghest level, US had 25% of the worlds top students, by far the highest % of any nation.

  • @ConservativeTimes

Now compare the population of US with any European country. Yeah, thought so... Now if I were you, I would compare EU data with US instead, for a better comparison. Cheerio :)

  • @madlei Yeah, Theyve been saying the same thing for the last forty years now, that the US students are lagging way behind. I guess according to these tests netherlands will be taking over Europe soon, lol. And watch out for that powerhouse Finland, theyre really kicking ass.

  • @ConservativeTimes We would do that, but we have a roll a blunt right now.

  • @ConservativeTimes

Ehm, not sure what you read nor where, but I told you to compare US data with EU data because of the population differences between USA and a single EU country. Also speaking of Finland as a powerhouse, they did kick the ass of Soviet Union even though severely outnumbered and they have done really, really well considering how few people there are actually living there plus being next to the "lovely" Russia. Finland has around 5,3 million people, compare that to USA.

  • @madlei No disrespect meant to Finland, but theyre not a superpower and they wont be, a tongue in cheek response to these test scores. The Shanghai test scores are impressive but keep in mind its one slice of China itself. You can slice off certain segments of the US education system and make it look pretty impressive. There are rural areas of China where the kids cant even attend school. I wonder what effect the high % of boys has on this due to one child policy, interesting...

  • @ConservativeTimes Who said they are? They lack the population to be a superpower. What I am saying is that they have done exceptionally well with such a small population, can't even compare the population of USA and Finland. If you want to compare data amongst superpowers compare EU, where Finland also belongs, and USA. Also, once EU integrates its military a bit more, it will easily become be a superpower by every standard necessary. Meaning Finland will be a part of the superpower.

  • @madlei Nobody said they were, I was making a joke to illustrate the unwarranted hysteria surrounding these test scores in the US. (this is the sarcaustic channel). The US has always done poorly in the standardized tests, but somehow over the last century we've managed to invent powered flight, bring the world into the atomic age and plant our flag on the moon. The implication was that there is some sort of doomsday coming for the US unless we get these test scores up and its not that simple.

  • @ConservativeTimes Fair enough. However, you should not forget 2 world wars that were in the previous century which devastated Europe in every way possible and gave USA a massive edge until now where Europe slowly is moving back to its former glory. Not only many scientists and intelligent people fled to USA, we also lost a lot workforce and had to rebuild for massive amounts of cash.

  • @madlei And everybody knows that jet planes, nuclear bombs and whatnot were all created by german scientists mostly. Though yes, there are always more than a few people next to inventions that big, but saying USA created them is pure blasphemy. I give you most of the credit for the invention of internet, however and landing on Moon.

  • @madlei The jet plane I'll give you as German. But a lot of the rocketry used and what was going on at peenemunde with the v-2 was based on stolen work from Goddard at Rosewell. The Germans stole his designs. Von Braun openly admitted as much. As far as the bomb, out of the 13 major scientists, only a couple were German and they werent major players. The most important European on Manhattan was Neils Bohr and he was Danish. And the Wright brothers? Not German, lol I'm from their hometown..

  • @ConservativeTimes When we speak about the Manhattan project, you should recheck the nations (Robert Oppenheimer, David Bohm, Leo Szilard, Eugene Wigner, Otto Frisch, Rudolf Peierls, Felix Bloch, Niels Bohr, Emilio Segre, James Franck, Enrico Fermi, Klaus Fuchs and Edward Teller). You should not forget that Austria was part of Nazi Germany since 1938. Plus of course our beloved Einstein with his note to the president of USA, which led to Manhattan project and Einsteins vital theories.

  • @madlei The major players in nuclear power next to Einstein and the key staff of Manhattan project were: Ernest Rutherford, Sir John Cockcroft, Ernest Walton, Otto Robery Frisch, Lise Meitner, Leo Szilard, H.G. Wells etc. If you say that the other key staff members next to Oppenheimer were not major players then you are full of bollocks. Take Enrico Fermi for example - he, for example, developed the first nuclear reactor and that is only one thing he contributed, even though it is a major one.

  • @madlei " "If we understand what the criteria were at the end of the 19th century, the Wright brothers simply do not fill any of the prerequisites," says Lins de Barros. Brazilians also claim that the Wrights launched their Flyer in 1903 with a catapult or at an incline, thereby disqualifying it from being a true aeroplane because it did not take off on its own. " ; Alberto Santos-Dumont, check him up and besides, the basic flying theories and developments were done way before Wrights.

  • @madlei "The major players in the development of nuclear bombs next to..." Pardon, forgot to fix that mistake before.

  • @ConservativeTimes Again, that is taken into account on the OECD results.... since the tests are carried out and results are provided by people that know what they are doing you can't simply blame the manner in which they are compiled....well I suppose you can if you wish to delude yourself into a false sense of comfort....

Your free to do that, but it won't help!

  • @MumblingMickey I really dont need a false sense of comfort, honestly. America has the highest % of the top tier students and thats all that really matters. Theres a variety of reasons why the national average is lower than some of the the countries mentioned, none the least of which is a 20% graduation rate of our major cities, which gets into the break down of inner citry family structure by well meaning social programs and such. But dont get youre hopes up, America will be just fine....

  • @ConservativeTimes well as one who has worked in hn education for almost 20 years your just a 'little' off there... the private 3rd level education in the US is excellent.. I've both studied and lectured in the US myself... second to none... However the student body is not just American... and neither are the educators... when the education cycle is complete those students return home... and home is not the US!

Such statistical issues are taken into account in the OECD figures.

  • @ConservativeTimes good points, Conservative Times! I hear ya. And thanks for watching, as always!

  • @ConservativeTimes errrhm, how many of those 25% top students are asians living in america??? Heehee

  • @mtube620 A lot. If you havent noticed, Americans are made up of every race there is. Your comment sounds a little racist against the non asian Americans. We may have to send you to sensitivity training....

  • @ConservativeTimes Hmmm, i made you think and you confirmed a fact so that make me a racist and you're not? You shouldn''t be here at this channel or watching 99% of youtube videos as these videos are not sensitive enough for your taste.

  • @mtube620 I was just joking! Making fun of people who are overly sensitive. Sorry it wasnt obvious enough, my attempt at humor abviously failed. lol...

  • @ConservativeTimes yah, ur not funny at all. Poor presentation as well.

  • not correct my friend! Even in advanced science and advanced math , Americans clocked in near to last.

  • @cosmaki1 Which part isnt correct? Everything Ive said is true. And as far as averages, the U.S has always lagged behind, and in the 1960s was dead last in science and math. Believe me, its not a big deal. I know a lot of people are hoping this fortells the downfall of America. It's intersting that China only included Shanghai in its results. I suspect that a true national average would leaveChina in a distant last place as huge numbers of its children do not attend school. It's an overreaction.

  • @ConservativeTimes Having 25% of the worlds top students and still being 23rd in the world in science means you have most of your students sitting at a C average or lower...

  • @TheVinnycarroll Of course, and as we've said before there are a lot of reasons for that. Graduation rates in the inner cities average 25 percent and it will not be getting better anytime soon. We've also said that U.S. scores on the intl standardized test have been approx. the same for the last 50 years. Don't worry, the U.S. will be at the forefront of engineering and technology for quite a while. Have a great weekend..

  • @ConservativeTimes meanwhile 3/4 (if not more) of the students in the us can barely pass their classes, thats really something to be proud of. Kudos to your technological prowess, when you solve your public school issues let me know.

  • @TheVinnycarroll Black and Hispanic males have less than a 50 percent graduation rate as a national average. This is a terrible problem. Black and hispanic populations in the largest cities are the vast majority, so the public schools in these area will be in trouble for a very long. Jerking the collective bargaining rights of teachers uniions is great step in the right direction. We need to get rid of the teachers that arent working out, and hire good ones. Right now this is impossible.

  • @ConservativeTimes so your pretty much saying for every smart american student theres 20? retarded students ?

  • @ConservativeTimes She just wants to make herself look like an idiot and a jackass its no biggie, We are alot smarter then she wants to act like we are. The only dumb american i see her is the person who made this video.

  • @ConservativeTimes It's highest not hoghest gee Americans really are retards.

  • @wiccanmoonman LOL, you got me there.....

  • @ConservativeTimes I'm dumbfounded, the average is for the country, hence ranking the country....

  • @ConservativeTimes OH, Great! So if you just look at the RICH PEOPLE'S KIDS scores we did great! Spectacular! That really makes our nation seem great that the average is miserable for a "1st World" country, but you want to point out that we're taking care of the few who can afford an education? Good call.

  • thought it would have been worse

  • It's just a silly test, I think human intelligence isn't that easy to measure.

  • Nice video, greetings from Estonia :)
