Now wait a minute when I was in high school I dont remember any lip piercings, and girl jeans, and this was in 2007 that I graduated. Some of you are making exaggerated claims. What I do remember though is alot of "down low" people walking in the shadows. There are more masculine acting gays then feminine ones. I see your point in the lyrical analysis. However, I feel that you could also see these lyrics as pertaining to loving himself. In keeping his "love lock down" for himself in order to conform to societal pressures he loses. This could be his ego or mind's relationship to the soul. In conforming to society, the soul becomes restless and would not be loving himself the way he wanted to because he has succumb to the pressure/temptation of the material world.

We all see them flash subliminal messages in advertising, movies, music etc but never would I have thought he would release a song about something like this.

I would have never thought of it that way. I always thought the song was about his envolvement with free masonry. Very interesting insight on this.
