This is the kind of racy trailer they would show during intermission at the old drive-in theatre, the kind where your parents would try to distract you and you just KNEW that it had to be a good film. John Waters raves about "Baby Doll" in his new book, "Role Models".

Actually you are correct, but although the trailer IS politically incorrect (and offensive) I assure you that the film itself is NOT. I highly encourage you to see it. It isn't racist or exploitative at all.

Thought she had to be 20. Is this a real trailer? Anyway, great film, and its three main stars were alive until Mr. Malden's passing the oher day-at 97! And Eli Wallach, whom I adore, is still acting in his 90s. Carroll has disappered fdrom the public, but is still very much alive. Thatks for posting this. An overlooked cinematic gem.

In another trailer, it states she is 19. Maybe this was the orginal & the studio made them change it ? We are talkin' the 50's here. Or, this was the explotation trailer for the drive-ins?

When it comes to the trailer they are merely talking about the age of the "character" She is playing NOT HER AGE in real life , duhhh.

If anyone's interested, and you ahven't seen this film... It's magnificent! One of the finest of the 1950s. The sort of mainstream film that NEVER gets made nowadays, but was the intelligent fayre of the mid 1950s. Pity we don't get this now, but BABY DOLL was something really special... Thanks for posting this trailer!
