I like this ad more than there others. It's the only one that doesn't have Jesus silhouettes all over therefore it's more open to everyone and they own worship.

You had me 'till 1:28. The message you are spreading does not need to only apply to the religious. So don't market it only to the religious. I'll still probably go along with this, but that bit put a little bit of a bad taste in my mouth.

Interesting question: if I follow everything you say, except that part at 1:28, what do you think of me? Am I headed for hell?

@ThatBastardOverThere Use Google to find the original site for this movement, which was started by 5 churches. One certainly does not need to be religious to do any of this, of course (except perhaps the worshiping part), but part of the spirit of it is that Christians are wanting to reclaim advent (which is, after all, about God's impending incarnation on earth) for a holier purpose. (And whether or not you do any of this has absolutely no bearing on whether or not one goes to hell.)

@nzlioness its not about hell, its about a relationship now - I feel sad for anyone whose main motivation to come to Christ is to avoid hell! It should be to follow his teachings now...to spread his message of peace and love here and now.

@webbeccjo I know! That's why I hate it when bullhorn people shove pamphlets into your hands that say "HELL IS TERRIBLE! QUICK! SAVE YOURSELVES!" or something along those lines.

And it isn't about following his teachings, because, once you have that relationship that every human so desires (but not many know it) you will do what he teaches anyway. Because God's law is written on everyone's hearts. It's what we call our conscience.

As a non-believer, I do BELIEVE this is the best way to celebrate the holiday. Consumption and materialism have no place in Christmas or any type of celebration whether it be birthdays or Mothers Day. It's the pressure of doing what is expected and guilt that compels us to spend, spend, spend. No mas. Just live and celebrate on your terms. Don't let Hallmark or any religion or adverntisment control you. I have spoken. Happy Kwanzaa!

I think "FAIL" is just a touch extreme. I doubt that the point of this video had anything to do with salvation. Yes, our over-arching message in everything is the gospel, faith, and repentance. But that same Jesus taught us to be generous (Mat. 25:31-40). "By your love, one for another, shall all men know that you are my disciples."

Agreed. Context is everything. We designed this to be used during our worship services, where Jesus is certainly mentioned. But if an atheist sees this and decides to celebrate Christmas by helping others, I'd be thrilled. Will God be pleased? While the atheist will have made no amends towards God, as this is possible only through Christ, I do think God would be pleased with me, for anything that helps the poor and downtrodden surely reflects His heart.

I dont know about you boogster, but I have worked my fingers to callouses before for others and not just threw a dollar in the salvation army bucket and thought that was my good deed. I dont need to defend anything i've ever done for God, because He is our judge, not you. And i'm sure many here have, your not gonna win ANYONE over by making sweeping generalizations about others commitments. Man in the mirror and all that.

For almost TEN years i've said the same thing and I had NO clue where to start, mainly because no one WANTS to start anything new. 2 issues to be aware of (among others), 1. Some people will see this just as a push for MORE money for the CHURCH. 2. Alot of people will donate anything but the effort to make it a reality. The only lasting thing we do on earth is what we do for God, I'm all for doing this for the will of Christ. There is so much I want to say but there is so little room on here.

As long as the money is USED and not COFFERED for "future" needs, then I am for it. The red cross had troubles a few years back for this, I'm praying that this doesnt befall the sparks that are started here, but fanned into a flame that burns for Christ. In terms of extremes, I would much rather be extremely generous than extremely greedy. The world has never been hurt by generosity. Greed and the accumulation of more "stuff" however.... wars have been fought over that. I don't find this video "anti money". but anti greed.

I don't believe in god, but I still think it's a good idea to have fun during the holidays rather than just buy ****. Generally, I don't think spending money is a bad thing though. There is one of those impossible compromises between having no fun and just buying crud while having no fun. living in tne moment, and buying gifts can be fun.

Despite being kind of extreme anti-money spending, I think it's still a good video. some people are just as equally extreme in the other direction.
