I'm a big fan of Alabama from Germany! And I love this special song so much! I'm only a 4-Wheeler with my wheelchair, but this song give me power everytime when I hear this for going on.
I was a teen in the 80's and was into rock. i disliked Alabama. Now days though I love them. My sister lived there and would run into them in Kmart and such. Days gone by. Im now 42. geez. They are great.
I was recently told " You are a truck driver...so what". Yes I am and have been for almost 17 years now, owned 3 of my own and now just do local work. People don't realize what drivers sacrafice for the good of their families as well as those we don't know and will never meet.
Yes Alabama did retire but thanks to Brad Paisley they have returned for at least 1 more song...Old Alabama. It is a true pleasure to hear the rekindered voices of some of the greats hes has brought new attention to.

I lost my dad in a wreck in the same state, I also was a driver and I was about an hour away from the crash and never found out about it till the state cops found me sleeping at the T5 truckstop hours afterwards, I just wish my dad would have made it! but we still keep on trucking!!!!!
All the men in my family are/were truckers and whenever my dad was out on a job I would listen to this song constanly,i alwayse worried that something might happen, and we used to call him every night. This song means alot to me, so many people dont appreciate truckers.
this song has been my family song since i was a kid, my mom,my brotherand sister and I sang this song everytime my dad was on the road truckdriving, and he always called every night to check on us and see if we sang the song day. im gald he never crashed like the dad in this song.
I cant listen to this song without crying. My dad always said that this was the song that reminded him of me. He has been dead for 17 years and I still miss him.
