@creepycody9 Yeah. Those videos are tutorials on how to disable the timestamp on the MD80 clone cameras (it cannot be disabled without hacking it) but we included a couple of sample videos in the first and last installments of the series. We also had a launch using a true 1080HD camera in our "Project 3000" video. That one was decent as well but we flew in winter so the scenery is not very colorful so it's not our favorite.
@creepycody9 No offense taken. At that time only a handful of people were flying cameras on their water rockets and none of them looked any better. We did launch a few flights with a better quality camera but it was too expensive to risk crashing that one and it was heavier and the rules say that the rocket must weigh 1500g or less (without water) to qualify for an official world record. Nearly all of launches were with the lighter camera (less quality) so the rocket was competiton legal.
@creepycody9 Camera technology has come a long way since that video was taken... So has our rocket design. We had a lot of problems with spinning during flight and when you combine that with low light and low framerate on the old camera you end up with a video that isn't as nice as what we do today. Look at our more recent "MD-80 / 808 Car-Keys / Gumpack Camera" videos (Near the beginning of Part 1 and at the end of Part 3 for some more recent launches!
@xXYannuschXx Our rocket is 3 times the volume and many times more pressure. If you keep building and learning then you will always keep going higher. We didn't get here over one night. It took a long time!
The total time is hard to say because we built the rocket in separate modules. The main body took several weeks, the camera took a week or two, the flight computer took a couple weeks, etc. Total time was in the order of 2-3 months. Thanks for a good question!
