  • Far more men from the republic fought and died in the british army in BOTH world wars, even after independence so I don't know what you're being so proud about.

  • MANY OF MY FAMILY FOUGHT IN THAT WAR, SOME DIED, ONE WAS ONLY 16! WITH THE TELEGRAM OF HIS DEATH TO HIS MOTHER WAS A BILL FOR 5 SHILLINGS TO PAY FOR THE BLANKET THEY BURIED HIM IN! SHE NEVER PAID THEM! SHE'D ALREADY GIVEN EVERYTHING! J.CORRIGAN.

  • Goy, (cattle), thats what they think of us, check out the planetary alignments and moon phases with the animal sacrifices that we thought were battles, whats going on is out of our human perception, we are being farmed...

  • how sad....

  • The UVF, the Kaisers army, armed by the Kaiser and funded by german sympathisers, they were willing in 1913/14 to kill British Tommies to defend their bigoted ways.

  • @saoirse2011 No point coming on here and making up any old taig pish and expect educated men to take it as gospel. Union til I die

  • The music and words of this song were written by Brian Ervine

  • damn...

  • @Flamorgan it did briefly on the western front Christmas 1914..so why not easter 2011?

  • @Flamorgan its the easter holidays.......

  • @Flamorgan spelling and grammer is irrelevant...the fact still remains that my "statement" is right and yours is simply wrong......and I have researched it......so maybe YOU should making "Stupid statements"..............

  • @Flamorgan actully mate u'll find out that the "English" did put an effort into the Somme, just like the Scots , welsh and the IRISH..all united as British Soldiers..all they did all "pay the cost " as they had MANY causulties....and fianlly they DO rember the irish as we rember ALL fallen dead on Remebrance day....so ure talking out of ure arse

  • who sings this song as it is one of the best i have heard yet

  • @tigersbaygirl

It was written by Brian Ervine and is on his CD The Day of the Somme.

  • R.I.P to all the soilders on both sides in ww1 and ww2 they both fought because they had too not because they wanted too we will always remeber there sacrificies. this Might b a bit of a long comment but they deserve it :) R.I.P

  • They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:

Age shall not weary them, nor the years contemn.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning

    We will remember them.

  • "We will remember the Somme"

BTW The 36th Ulster Division WAS mainly Protestant, and certainly Unionist/Loyalist, as the few Irish catholics who volunteered to fight, joined the 16th Irish Division!...

  • i didnt hear about the ira in the war fukin cowards UVF will always b greater and brave

  • @jmcmullan814 what does UVF stand for?

  • @thedreamportal Ulster Volunteer Force.

  • Who is Congal Claen?

  • @BitingOsprey an ancient King of Ulster, in fact Ulster's last King before our homeland was subsumed by the hated Gaels...after the Battle of Moira in 637AD.

  • It saddens me to think that the sacrifice made by all those who died in 1914-1918, 1939-1945 and beyond was all in vain.

Our freedoms, traditions and heritage have been given away or sold by our politicians. Shame on them.

  • Respond to this video... least we forget our fallen volunteers

  • lest we forget

  • Mythology overtakes history and facts yet again. The Irish 10th and 16th Division lost more on the somme than the 36th but hey who remembers them?

RIP all brave Irishmen who fell in the Great War

  • great tune

  • Great video and song but is there any reason why i cant upload it to my bebo flashbox ?

  • At the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remember them

  • gr8 song least we forget

  • prob the best video iv seen on here. prod to be a prod!!

    lest we forget.

  • Class yes, obedience can kill be warned, just say no because it's ten times deadlier than any drug. JUST SAY NO .

  • Class.

United We Stand , Divided We fall !

  • fgau watp

  • love it up the uvf

  • im sorry but you misunderstand, the UVF of 1912-1921 was nothing to do with the UVF of 19166-2007 the original UVF were a part of a division of the army and were the only division to achieve all there objectives on the 1st July 1916 at the somme

  • @tate247 we'll said mate

  • @tate247 well said.....the only thing i disagree with is 1966-2007? still very much around in 2011.

  • Do a bit of research mate.

The UVF at the battle of the Somme are a different UVF to the current drug dealers.

Also during the troubles the IRA killed more innocent people than everyone else put together.

  • @alanrfcshea well said m8

  • @alanrfcshea

carsons volunteers britains first line. we shall remember them FGAU

  • my favourite song about the somme.
