Your correct right up to the point you state the VE was German designed. It wasn't - it was designed in Melbourne Australia. When the car was unveiled to GM in the states apparently the 'good ole' USA boys got blasted for what the Aussies designed. We had $1 Billion to develop the car as it was determined that Australia produces a better RWD platform product than the US. It is now the global platform for all new GM RWD products.
lol comodore has never been designed in germany, just cause vauxhall imported the cars and badged them as omega doesnt mean shit. VE was 100% aussie designed and tested. thats basicly the pontiac G8 gxp. only the G8 is faster in 0 to 60 mph by .1 seconds. the Pontiac version is faster because 60mph= 96.56kmh. : ) the holden may have the advantage in styling do to strict laws in the US, but Pontiac has a slight edge in performance. be sides Pontiac didn't still the holden desighn because GM owns Holden as part of the european devision. they are the same car, with diferent names. sorry for my poor spelling, im only 15. : )
WRONG! The G8 GXP has a 6.2L 415hp LS3 engine and is basically a ClubSport. This beast has a 7.0L LS7 in it and has waaaaaay more horsepower! I think its around 550hp!

The VE Commodore was not designed in Germany. The VE is on the Zeta platform, which is Australian designed.
All previous Commodores were on the V-platform, which was originally designed by Opel.
Half the parts were not made in Germany. Bosch spark plugs maybe, but that's about it.
