  • For those who have nothing else to do: ITS JUST A PICTURE !!!

  • Cause this photo is not from 1970. The sessions for the album Trespass were in 1970. The line up in this period were Peter Gabriel, Tony Banks, Tony Phillips, John Mayhew and Mike Rutherford. This photo is from 1973 with Steve Hacket and Phil Collins.

  • Tony Phillips on guitar !!!

  • @uweoehlke if it's true, why is Steve on the picture?

  • Picture is misleading as Hackett and Collins joined Genesis later

  • cool it has the likeness of Looking for someone, and the riff off Fountain of Salmacis.

    beautiful

  • Unbelieveable...this is how songs develop before their birth.

  • the guy behind at right is Steve Hackett

  • please tell me: who is the guy in behind at right ?

  • heeee, boys, whats that ???

i dont knew this version before !!

    many thanks for posting

and greeting to all fans from a berliner

  • Fountain of Salmacis more like.

  • Funny there is Collins in this picture when he did not even play on this song!

  • Nor did Hackett who is also in the pic.

  • its like a medley of all the great early genesis songs, mostly fountain of salmacis, and looking for someone.

  • Great music by Genesis.

Silver from Poland(Great fan o Genesis).

  • this belongs too to the formation with ant and john.this drummer is NO WAY phil collins

  • @ozoshah Yep. While the pic IS Collins, the drummer on this song is John Mayhew, who played on their second lp Trespass. Then he left the band.

  • There's a chunk of 'The Knife' in there as well. Tremendous stuff, but I'm glad they developed the individual sections into full-blown songs. Does anyone have a copy of the 20-odd minute long 'The Movement' to post? - this was cannabilised for various later Genesis songs.

  • Do I hear Pete on accordion?

  • Definitely some "The Fountain Of Salmacis" here, and also some "Looking For Someone" as well. And glad I am that these bits got made into full songs, and weren't mired in this early study piece.
