Cause this photo is not from 1970. The sessions for the album Trespass were in 1970. The line up in this period were Peter Gabriel, Tony Banks, Tony Phillips, John Mayhew and Mike Rutherford. This photo is from 1973 with Steve Hacket and Phil Collins.
There's a chunk of 'The Knife' in there as well. Tremendous stuff, but I'm glad they developed the individual sections into full-blown songs. Does anyone have a copy of the 20-odd minute long 'The Movement' to post? - this was cannabilised for various later Genesis songs.
Definitely some "The Fountain Of Salmacis" here, and also some "Looking For Someone" as well. And glad I am that these bits got made into full songs, and weren't mired in this early study piece.

@ozoshah Yep. While the pic IS Collins, the drummer on this song is John Mayhew, who played on their second lp Trespass. Then he left the band.
