It's always interesting to listen to the unproduced uncompressed tracks. Without the production, especially the compression, which the Beatles and George Martin used extensively, they sound almost live. They sound more modern. I know it's sacrilege, but I would love to see them REMIX the later beatles recordings (I know there's not much they can do with the first few albums), However, they also don't sound like us old folks remember them, so I guess I'll always prefer the originals.
@ledrush6 Certainly is, this weird looseness but fits perfectly. Hello Goodbye for me one of the greatest 'pop songs'- wonderful upbeat vibe, great music, incredible call & response in the singing
@ledrush6 because paul probably did the drumming (notice no bass in the song) not to mention that paul and george did lots of drumming and dubbing during other sessions. ringo is overrated by Beatles fans (yet underrated by proponents of other groups)
Wow, Ringo's drumming! So weird but it really gives the song character. He truly is/was underrated.

You know how it is. You're sitting at the mellotron, playing the flutes, and before you know it, 9 minutes have gone by.

Listen to 'Shakermaker' by Oasis and you'll see where Noel Gallagher got the inspiration from!

This is my favourite version of the track. Too bad they didn't put it on Anthology!
And yes, Kubrick used the footage filmed for MMT in the ending of 2001.

Kubrick? I have heard the footage was shot in Iceland. I've never heard of Kubrick sharing outtakes... stylistic coincidence more likely.
