This and Pink Orange Red were the first two Cocteau Twins tracks that attracted me to their music...It sounds as unique and Off-World today as it did in 1985...
Cocteau Twins is intensely beautiful Psychedelic Music; better than any "psychedelic" band in the 60's (besides possibly the Doors or Strawberry Alarmclock
I 'm just compelled to look in on this track every now and again. What astonishes me the most is that it doesn't just simply hold up well, it's absolutely brilliant! I have a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that it's over 25yrs old! After all
this time it still speakes to me, unleashing so many visionary images!
Great spangled fritillary I was wondering shum what album this was originally on. I remember seeing it on Lullabies to Violane part 1 or 2. This is such a gem I absolutely love the part around 2:15 the sound of the guitar effects. Lovely :)
if elizabeth ever came to the throne this would surely be the music
immense enough to mark her accession.

@posypity Great idea my friend, she surely is our Queen, and such a song
to play at her accession :)

@blainebill39 Hi there my friend, all the best for 2011, its great hearing from you...
I so agree with you about this brilliant song, it sends goosebumps all over,
both the music and vocals are equally dreamy its a touch of genius....
How it was never a monster hit is a total mystery to me, but having said that
how the heck all the Cocteau's songs weren't massive hits is beyond words..
Lovely to hear from you Blaine my friend....!!!! :))

God I wish there was something today that I loved as much as this music back then.

@Fitzhugh1975 B Hi my friend, I,m still head over heels in love
with the Cocteaus music......cheers m8.......keep listening...!!!

@Fitzhugh1975
It's so true my friend, there is not now, nor has there been anthing quite like
the Cocteau Twins. I find myself constantly returning to them after over 25yrs!
Cheers!
blainebill39 1 year ago
Thank you again shum65 for helping me to realize that it does not have to be just
a nostalgic look back. Cocteaus music set to your videographic magic illustrates
how little great art ages. It can actually live on to further inspire others!
blainebill39 1 year ago
@blainebill39 Hi my friend, your very welcome indeed...I,m enjoying
reading your fab comments to my videos, your very kind indeed...!!!
your so right about classic songs by the Cocteaus, like vintage wine,
they just get better with the passing of time, wish I did..ha-ha..
But they surely do inspire others, The Cocteaus have always
inspired me since the start of the 80s...cheers dear friend.....

As a kid in the 80's I always imagined a great procession of robed Druids
peacefully worshiping in the Sacred Grove, respecting and adoring nature.
Extant evidence suggests that they were much like native Americans in that
respect. Then the West came (The Romans) and sought their annihilation!
blainebill39 1 year ago
@blainebill39 Hi blainebill, its good to hear from you my friend,
I like your vision of the robed Druids peacefully worshiping,
It seems theirs always someone ready to spoil the peace....
love this track by the Cocteaus, its very underestimated.
