Writing comedy is difficult and the writers at this show probably just threw this one out there one night when they didn't have any good ideas. In other words, they were hoping to be funny as opposed to offensive. This sometimes happens when you have a writing staff entirely of one background. Quebec television is sometimes offensive to minorities for this same reason, but no one gets upset.

I would love to see a TV show of that nature in America but depicting jews as rats and exposing their evil and wicked ways.
