in malaysia, its not illegal. these fishes r pond breed. n they do come with cert n being microchipped. guys, life is like tad, you guys from US wan these fish, but i want a dog breed name DOGO ARGENTINO. n tis breed is totally ban in malaysia.
Great fish aysiang81. lovely hunch back and also bright coloration of gold. the fish also swim in great grace and style. also, the age is ripe and just nice. i bet by today, it is as beautiful as this video on may 8 2008. show us your new picture of this beautiful fish. i envy you.
Very nice cross back. they are amazing fish, my favs. sucks for you american guys and girls that they are banned. they aren't collected from the wild anymore, they are all captive bred microchipped and certificated. very very nice arowana aysiang81
Yes they ARE ILLEGAL in the United States, only silver arowana is allowed and they are trying to ban them as well....saying they are endangered and in need of protection.........*sighs* w/e....I think we could protect them if we could have them...but nobody cares....LOL
No, you just can't sell and buy them from the states. I heard you can still buy them from other counties if it comes with the paper work. They are endangered becuase people want to buy them so much that the people who are selling them are catching them at a faster rate than they can breed out in the wild.
I'm sorry but EVERY place I have called internationally to buy an arowana has said "hey sorry but it's illegal, we are NOT selling it and can't ship it to you...." And I have tried over 30 breeders because my fiance is indonesian and he really wanted to have a red or gold, mostly red, but he is stuck with a silver, regardless of papers, they will NOT (unless you find black market) send you a papered or numbered arowana.
that cost a fortune.
