  • This is an interesting video to watch.

  • Yo! the rhymes on this joint was off the hook!

  • This is just wow .-.

  • She fit that whole apple in her mouth 0___o

  • Thanks for posting! I feel the artistic achievement overshadows the negative stereotypes. Even though it does portray royalty and pushcart vendors in an unflattering way. A wonderfully subversive cartoon by Bob Clampett.

  • great soundtrack, great animation, great timing

this film is an animated jewel!

Not to mention Coal Black has an adorable character design

Too bad Americans are too bug of wusses to embrace this piece of art

I mean, we were a communist country, and yet we still love the movies we made during those days (even if they are at odds with our current values)

  • man what you got that makes snow white think you're so hot?

  • the b-b-bucket!

  • What did he say in 2:02?

  • Thank you,mm33mike

  • So glad I found that channel again! systems! :( it's complicated, so y'all don't be haters, the content of this cartoon is not the problem.

  • The ending sure was funny, I laughed so hard

  • This is history, but sad. Makes me cry to think this world is so narrow minded. "Sebben dwarfs"? Would be entertainig if it was not for the stereotypes.

  • "I'll give her a kiss and it won't be a dud, I'll bring her to life with my magic...ROSEBUUD"

that has to be the best line in any cartoon ever

  • and where

  • ... wondering which soldiers were shown this ...

  • maybe the best cartoon ever.

  • This what people actually thought how the black race looked, like we were some "loud big lips gold teeth sugar pimp daddy" The only person that didn't have a bad image was the black girl who played snow white and even she barley spoke English well.. Of Course this is old and yes it different times now hell we have a black president..but think about it our people suffered 400year of this BS you see in the cartoon to get 4year in the White House an we just achieve that 3years ago WAKE UP!!

  • @magic45hi Didn't the mail come when you were able to think? It did for me and it said "life sucks everybody. Have fun."

  • This makes me ashamed to be white :/ for fuck sake.

  • Once you get beyond the shock of the racial insensitivities, it's actually a great cartoon. A shame the times were as such then.

  • This is a fascinating piece of history. Things sure were different 70 or so years ago. Look for the WB wartime cartoon making fun of the Japanese. Cool history.

  • 7 short black people? THIS IS OFFENSIVE TO GARY COLMAN AND EMMANUELLE LEWIS!

  • That is Hollywood and it is Still like this just in another way!!!!

  • Wow, even the worms are black.

  • she's hot idgaf.

  • get the hell over it, already.........

  • This you mean the buc buc bucket lmao!!

  • That's why I like hang with black people, they give your life and attitude a kick ; )

  • i think the thing i hate he most about this vid is i can hear bugs bunny in there voices... hes like my childhood hero

  • The scenes where Prince Chawin' tries to revive So White's life by his "dynamite kiss" is just some of the best character animation in the Golden Age ever - you can REALLY feel the energy and effort he puts in to kiss her and he also ages. Just Classic. Rod Scribner animated that scene and he sure knew how to draw and animate well.

  • The following two excerpts were from the director Bob Clampett explaining how it was not intended to be racist at all. This was collaborative by an all-black cast of jump for joy, and Bob Clampett, the jazz players were from a club he would visit a lot in Los Angeles, next year this will be in the public domain, and no longer property of Warner Brothers.

  • "There was nothing racist or disrespectful toward blacks intended in that film at all, nor in Tin Pan Alley Cats which is just a parody of jazz piano great Fats Waller, who was always hamming into the camera during his musical films. Everybody, including blacks had a good time when these cartoons first came out. All the controversy about these two cartoons has developed in later years merely because of changing attitudes toward black civil rights that have happened since then." -Bob Clampett

  • @TheTrit0n

    ...."blacks"?

  • @yanahana his words not mine, at the time.

  • "In '42, during the height of anti-Japanese sentiment during World War II, I was approached in Hollywood by the cast of an all-black musical off-broadway production called Jump For Joy while they were doing some special performances in Los Angeles. They asked me why there weren't any Warner's cartoons with black characters and I didn't have any good answer for that question. So we sat down together and came up with a parody of Disney's "Snow White" and "Coal Black" was the result." -Bob Clampett

  • This was actually a very interesting video. I don't encourage racism, however I feel that people shouldn't get so worked up over a cartoon. This was a totally different time with different ideas, and while we don't agree with them, it's part of our history and it shouldn't be forgotten.

  • @sakura9949 It's still... rude kinda.

  • @swordman600 So... here's the point. This cartoon has been available on the internet, so if you cultural historians want to watch it, you can. Even if many of you are not offended by this, there are quite a few Americans that would be offended. Therefore, to avoid disturbing the public, we don't air it on television. It's all about the numbers. Television networks don't want to be sued by that majority, and I totally understand that.

  • @AmayaHinageshi I don't even see how anyone could be offended, really, I mean, besides the wholw big lips thing which is debatable, it's actually not offensive to me at all.

    Sources: I was black once

  • @LaVivaGan Haha, well, like I said, not everyone is offended. It's the majority that is offended that is barring it from television. IDK, maybe someday everyone will get over it, but as of now, it's still not considered television appropriate.

  • It amuses me that all of these cartoons start out with , "HONEY CHILE!" and dance routines. ROFL.... smh. IT's racist as hell but I just....smh.

  • racist...but she was hot

  • Until I actually saw this, I thought this film was just an urban legend. From an animation standpoint, it's highly entertaining, well drawn and funny. However.. The depiction of the men and the evil queen( I think it's a drag queen!) and purely racist stereotypical images that were standard for the time period. Offensive? Yes, entreating? Also yes.

  • this was so funny!!

  • When I was a kid, I actually liked this better than the real Snow White.

  • Can't see anything, guess I missed it! Won't play, just a black screen :(

  • if you think this is even remotely entertaining, you really need your priorities realigned...

  • @mightymoebetta and if you don't you need to pull the stick out of your ass and realize that this was made in the 40's with an all African American va cast.

  • @zackster89 and how does that fact justify or console anything about it? If you would like me to just engage and enjoy ignorance, I refuse and hope you value yourself and others to reconsider such a error-laced mindset. My comment must have pushed a button since you decided to respond, and I hope you come to terms with that. Peace

  • kinda sad how the majority of black people today actually talk and spell like that..

  • @SpankYouuVeryMuch Either you're a troll or you're a completely ignorant idiot ^ ^

  • Haha Schlesinger a jew produced this *shakes head* lol

  • better than the cleveland show

  • Part 2) It would only be racist if one believes that the behavior is exclusive to a certain group based on the color of their skin. If you believe this to be racist then Marshall Mathers is a racist bigot. I love that this cartoon is rich in cultural behavior. I love that people see things differently and experience life differently. It adds so much to our culture in general and I feel more rich for it.

  • @hecpr2001 Are you some kind of cunt or just pretending to be..What black woman or look and speak like snow white's sister

  • @hecpr2001 It's racist, because what black person do you know looks and act like that.

  • @blazingangel908

true, the girl is stunning, and the black men all appear to be employed, must be unreal

  • @aminimaleffort I see we aren't on the same page, because that's not what I was talking about or meant lol

  • @blazingangel908 its not racist its how that generation was. Think about it they could have made them all look like monkeys and even the white/animal characters act dumb in the cartoon and also, they were employeed and the girl did look pretty unlike if they were being racist. btw I am half "Black" and half hispanic and also my best friend is white ^^

  • @SlytherinBeauty14 psh they DO look like monkeys, except for the main female character. All of the white people at least look HUMAN compared to how they draw majority of the black people back then. THAT I find racist. And that damn watermelon sterotype is getting on my nerves, you always see it at some point. (However, I don't think I've seen it in this cartoon)

  • @SlytherinBeauty14 So basically you are saying it's not racist because it could have been worse considering that entire generation was racist?

  • part 1) Gee, I don't know if documenting cultural behaviors in the form of a cartoon is racist. Our behaviors change with every decade. I guess the hip hop singer/rappers must also be racist because there music documents the events of their current environment and behaviors associated with it.

  • eh...this coulda been alot more racist

    i laughed though ;)

  • she's gorgeous

  • that egg is never going to cook when it's in the air so much.

  • Rararararacist cartoon boop da Dee lol

  • I'm mad at how good this is. Warner Bros in it's Golden Age ... You take the good (great sense of humor and serious production values) with the blatant old timey racism.

  • wow this is more sinful...why? more lusting thoughts of men have....lol

  • lol at the refugees

  • I'm slightly torn about this. I'm fully aware of the racism that exists in entertainment and how it was right out in the forefront back then. However, I'm curious as to why this one is banned when anything featuring the crows from Dumbo, etc. are not. This was actually slightly entertaining and I've never seen an all chocolate (and they're cocoalicious) cartoon before. Interesting from a social stand point.

  • the Genius of this film is that they worked in a "Citizen Kane" referance

  • THAT'S ALL DAWGZ!

  • Well that is a military secret! B======D

  • White racists are demons

  • lol, I'm black and think this is freaking hilarious...haha, I'm goin to hell :p

  • What were they thinking when they made this?

  • yes, at leat our military gets props in this vid, we must support our troops

  • DYNOMITE!

  • its sad cuz there were no "adult" cartoons back in the day

  • she such a slut hahaha sxy slut

  • lol the milataryrefrence is...... awful but i am delighted that i get it...THANKS AFRICAN AMERICAN STUDIES!!!! sn ssnow black or whatever her name is looks like my lil sister.... if she was a whore

  • @talkindurinthemovie coal black

  • @talkindurinthemovie how flattering

  • Did you mean the Bu-Bu-BUKET!! XD

  • I'm black and even I think this is funny!

    A cha-cha-cha-cha-CHAAH!

  • @Disneysorcerer lol. My boyfriend is black and he thinks the same as you.

  • oh Lordie....

  • So many things about this made me go, "WHAT?" but at the same time, it has a kind of awesomeness to it.

  • @nirvanachika87 No need to name call was just my opinion so chill

  • @Twbates21 this was a different time, it was racist but so wore a lot of cartoons back then

  • If I saw this as a kid, I would probably think they were bears or something.

  • LOL I knew since I saw the first part that 'Prince Shawmin' wouldn't work. :)

  • Loved part 1 and 2.. Love the old cartoons and only an immature idiot would find it racist!!!

  • @Twbates21 You've got to be kidding me, Are you in denial? This is just one of many racist cartoons. I still can't believe you, this is more than painfully obviously racist. You have to be a troll.

  • @Twbates21 So you saying there not blatantly racist?

  • hachahchacha!

  • Thanks for the cartoon. :)

  • this cartoon is so wrong and i still like it.

  • Black Snow white? lol...This was kinda cool actually.

  • yes, a racist masterpiece that is

  • Despite it's racial style, I give it a bit of credit for being the first cartoon to do a Citizen Kane "Rosebud" joke.

  • I don't care how wacist it is, if i met a woman that could fit an entire apple in her mouth, I'd marry her right away.

  • @MichaelBurling13 too easy

  • thanks!!
