If there are a lot of police around, which there were here, they will all jump in to help so that everybody goes home at the end of their shift. have you ever rolled around on the floor with someone whos pissed by yourself trying to put there arms behind there backs. It ends up with injuries for both 9/10... using 3 - 4 + people means you can easily control a limb each and not have to use large amounts of force to stop the person from kicking out and the end result is 1 nobber arrested no injuries to either party.. take up some mma or something like that pal and try fight someone and get them pinned by yourself then you'll learn!

@browna3tg BTP do not regularly carry firearms. SO19 are now known as CO19 and have been for quite a while now. The police that guard nuclear sites are called the civil nuclear constabulary.
@browna3tg Oddly BTP don't have any armed officers what so ever. They rely on firearms cover from the local home office force. Although they are starting to consider having armed units.
@badpanda84 They do have some TASER trained officers. They do routinely carry PAVA spray and a collapsible monnadnock baton. PAVA is different from pepper or CS (which most police forces carry) and reduces the risk of cross contamination considerably. Which is great on a train. However its emerged recently they will be getting their own firearms support rather than having to rely on HO forces to help out in that regard.

British Police are pathetic in comparison to an American cops who are generaly built alot stronger and trained how to take down a offender regardless of injury to the suspect who is restraining arrest in the first place. Even on a 2 to 1 ratio it is still a scrap to a certain extent and 6 on one is definitely safer - 1 for each limb, 1 to control the head and one to give clear instructions.

@EuroDivision You're absolutely right about how American cops would handle this. I live in Pennsylvania and I see people get arrested from time to time and some use too much force. They normally have to resort to the taser or pepper spray if the suspect is really out of control, and then there are the corrupt pigs who use it like its a toy and they shouldn't be in law enforcement.
Obviously the person who uploaded this knows FUCK ALL about how the police restrain suspects. As a former prison officer, we were trained to use teams of three people to restrain prisoners. A minimum of three officers means that a prisoner can be restrained with minimal harm to him or her. If there are more officers at hand, all the better for bringing the person under control.

The problem is they can't simply turn up, smash him a right hook, kick him in the nads then cuff him, there is a lot more to it than that, the force they use has to be reasonable. Obviously its easier to minimise the force that is actually required to arrest him with more officers. Plus because the rigid cuffs are a a fair bit tricker to get on than the old style ones, the second arm (ie one cuffed one not) needs to be fairly still as does the cuffed one, quite tricky to achieve.
I once went to the bank, I left my engine running with a friend in my car. When I got back to it 3 coppers was stood by it, they asked me if they could bring a few trainee's over to show how use a Breathalyser on me. Before I know it there is 18 coppers all stood round me. So six making this arrest is nothing!

The reason there is so many officers trying to cuff one 'chav' is because the Uk police work in such a way, it minimises injury risk to the officers. As you see theres one officer pinning him in every place where he could attempt to resist. This also stops the 'chav' injuring himself by restraining his arms and such.

@badpanda84 They do have some TASER trained officers. They do routinely carry PAVA spray and a collapsible monnadnock baton. PAVA is different from pepper or CS (which most police forces carry) and reduces the risk of cross contamination considerably. Which is great on a train. However its emerged recently they will be getting their own firearms support rather than having to rely on HO forces to help out in that regard.

@EuroDivision You're absolutely right about how American cops would handle this. I live in Pennsylvania and I see people get arrested from time to time and some use too much force. They normally have to resort to the taser or pepper spray if the suspect is really out of control, and then there are the corrupt pigs who use it like its a toy and they shouldn't be in law enforcement.

Obviously the person who uploaded this knows FUCK ALL about how the police restrain suspects. As a former prison officer, we were trained to use teams of three people to restrain prisoners. A minimum of three officers means that a prisoner can be restrained with minimal harm to him or her. If there are more officers at hand, all the better for bringing the person under control.
So shut the fuck up.

I'm an ex Prison Service C&R Instructor and if I was a copper I wouldn't risk going 1 on 1 or even 2 on 1 and getting hurt, sod that I'd put myself at as little risk as possible when dealing with a twat. The problem is they can't simply turn up, smash him a right hook, kick him in the nads then cuff him, there is a lot more to it than that, the force they use has to be reasonable. Obviously its easier to minimise the force that is actually required to arrest him with more officers. Plus because the rigid cuffs are a a fair bit tricker to get on than the old style ones, the second arm (ie one cuffed one not) needs to be fairly still as does the cuffed one, quite tricky to achieve.

I once went to the bank, I left my engine running with a friend in my car. When I got back to it 3 coppers was stood by it, they asked me if they could bring a few trainee's over to show how use a Breathalyser on me. Before I know it there is 18 coppers all stood round me. So six making this arrest is nothing!

Well you could easily get one copper to take one man down but would require more force maybe a few bats to the head. However with more than four cops you can get all legs and arms covered, and get him apprehended quickly enough. If you think you could do better feel free to try and do it yourself :)

The reason there is so many officers trying to cuff one 'chav' is because the Uk police work in such a way, it minimises injury risk to the officers. As you see theres one officer pinning him in every place where he could attempt to resist. This also stops the 'chav' injuring himself by restraining his arms and such.
