I thought that too but it Hugh says on the book Stranglers Song By Song that that was an actual real keyboard. It works just like a normal one only its like touch screen instead of pressing down the keys. There, you learn something new everyday.
I haven't read the book, but there was a little synth called the WASP which had yellow touch-plates instead of keys. The Stranglers used one in the video for "Bear Cage". Could that be the one ?
I cant get a hold of The Gospel.....so i cant compare but i have most of their others and i think La Folie is by far their best. The perfect mix of pop, rock and sinister lyrics
