they cover thir beads up as they do japa ,but why ?as we know they are doing the japa in the yelllow bag,the buddhists do it openly,but to each thier own ,it a beutiful thing, THE DIVINE NAME PATH !
@lunchmeat77 Hari bolo! Namaste! The Vaishnava's cover their beads while doing japa because those beads are sacred. The beads are made of wood from the Tulasi tree. Those beads are protected from dirt etc. when the chanter is walking. It's not an offence to chant without those 'beadbags' if you're indoors.
