In most places, you do have to pass a physical to be a cop. However, standard cops don't need to maintain their fitness after the test, so they often don't. Other cops - SWAT, ARV, etc, they have to take regular tests.

it's not a charger, it's a nissan altima. theres another video showing an NYPD Altima showing off the new rumbler. they use altimas now because of the cornering and manueverability needed for the city.

The charger and Magnum are not doing well in police trials. They find the back doors don't open enough and with the cage theres no room in back seats. Which can be a problem when loading and unloading idiot people.

They might be quicker then a P71 with hemi but with Gas costs and way police work. Dont really need that v8 power. In Canada Police chases are looked down upon and most times arnt ever done for public safety.

doubt they would invest in v8s for regular precents unless they are unmarked. but crown vics are almost done. so they gotta find a replacement soon other wise theyre gonna be stuck with only impalas and a few chargers unless they start getting alot of suvs. do they still drive around in the marked vans?

I live in confines of 68th Pct and they have one of these V6 Chargers for tests. I don't know, but it seems they don't like it as much as the crown vic, but def more than the impalas. Perhaps it's the rwd that they like and not the V6.

Highway 2 has Chargers in both, slick top and unmarked (black) versions they use on the Belt Pkwy. Those are V8 versions and they're getting great reviews. I know that CUNY Public Safety is testing one as well. And SUNY Buffalo switched to them recently.
