The passage from about 1:30 - 2:30 reminds me so much of Debussy. Mussorgsky was a huge influence on him. I'd image it takes a lot of guts to play this; many pianists say it's writing is awkward. Brilliant performance as usual.

What great luck that this video recording was made! - the performance is fantastic! - I have heard the piece so often, but no performance has enthralled and excited me so much as this one!
