I'm not very fond of musicals but this one was very good! Great cinematography and Rocky Mckenzie's newbie acting evens out the comedic tone to a more dramatic character driven pice. Geoffrey Rush was brilliant as usual.

I saw this movie the other day and unfortunately there was a song that I felt was totally unnessesary.. and very offensive...when all the aborginal boys were singing in the church about how white people took the land and they wouldv'e sent all the convict ships back to England. It was very dissapointing that they had to be antaganistic and political in their songs..I thought that this land belongs to ALL of us now.
