  • thanks for this one

  • To hammersly1967

Oi don't u dare say that about aboriginals u nasty little racist brat!

It just so happens I am Australian and part aboriginal so be careful about what u say about people

Has your mum never told that if u can't say anything nice don't say anything at all!

  • I'm australian, not proud.

and I hate ALL australian movies,

except this one, that says something about this movie ;D

  • Rabbit Proof Fence meets Glee.

    I'm curious

  • why do racist people look for black films, just to attempt to criticize them, hidden interest maybe...

  • "ABORIGINALS STARED AUSTRALIA"

    ???????????

    What does that mean?

BTW: Bran Nue Dae = *cringe*

  • Looks interesting. I like it.

  • I AM YET TO SEE THIS! LOOKS GREAT! (y)

  • oh my gosh!!!! this just came out in the US like 2 days ago! i have to see itttttt!!!

  • nobody is hating. Australia still has a long way to go when it comes to

    a- make good movies

b- not treat aboriginal like buffoons

this movie is a lame ass g.ay musical.

  • @cannoir

It was written and produced by aboriginal people.

I thoroughly enjoyed the film, and part of that was because of the humour it took on itself - it builds up stereotypes and then knocks them all over the shop.

  • @OzBuckBear

"It was written and produced by aboriginal people."

Ah! THAT'S why it was so fuckin' bad...

  • @Hammersley1967

Correction: That's why it was so danged hilarious.

  • @OzBuckBear

    Embarrassing...

    *CRINGE*

  • @Hammersley1967 WTF IS YOUR PROBLEM, ABORIGINALS STARED AUSTRALIA

  • abos lol

  • @Actionboy619 Racist lol.

You're so tough, hiding behind the protection of a computer & a screen name. You think because you can't get in trouble for this it doesn't matter?

For fuck sake, it's 2010, how is dumb racism still so dormant? It makes me sick.

  • @xXJUL3Xx thank you!

  • Hope it premieres in Portugal! Go Oz!

  • I'm not very fond of musicals but this one was very good! Great cinematography and Rocky Mckenzie's newbie acting evens out the comedic tone to a more dramatic character driven pice. Geoffrey Rush was brilliant as usual.

  • You are Australian and you're saying that!

  • don't treat them right? the government stole them from there families and assimilated them into western culture, destroying everything they are, and there suppose to forget about that? how bout i take your kids and put them in some institution on the other-side of the country *rolls eyes* try that shit in new zealand and we would cut ya heads off.

  • @codetrooper

    Wow.

Ok so what would happen if everyone in australia who was not native just left, took all of our western technology and culture? I bet you any money they would miss it.

The stolen generations, is highly inflated.

Most of the children that were taken were rescues from abusive and drunk parents.

Sure, the "whites" were a bit nutty with the whole religion thing, but anything that anyone does or says NOW cannot change what happened.

It would be nice if everyone just got along.

  • Really?

  • This movie looks cooooooool!

  • awesome film!

  • @lolapple2: Haha, no not at all. I think you should give it another chance. See the whole movie for free here: ->>onlinemovieshq(dot)net

  • I just watched it today!! It's so funny and cool!

  • Since I am no where near patriotic, I am going to say this;

Oh God. Obviously another Australian movie that is set to fail in my books, just like any other "Aussie" film that has been produced. Eg. 'Charlie and Boots'

  • @ganrella7908 um... have you ever heard the saying, "don't judge a book by it's cover?"

give it a chance at least!

  • thou shall not starv either!! hehe =)

  • hahahahaha samson 'thou shall not steal'

  • Looks shit.

  • best movie!!!! so proud to be an aussie!!!

  • looks good, hope it makes it over to the states

  • SOMETIMESSSS ITTTTSSS HARRRD

that part is why i clicked onto this video.

  • its a fucking awsomee moviee

  • I can't wait to see this movie.

  • Love this movie to bits... What the song called where willy sings in the church after he confesses???

  • i love this movie

  • Very good film! :D Love the songs!

  • pfft, the name tells it all....

  • looks oright

  • anyone seen the movie yet?is it good? might want to watch..................

  • Damn, just 2 seconds of hearing Jessica's voice and i get goose bumps!

  • The whole show was lovely and endearing..which really did make you feel very positive about the Indinous people..but then it was all spoilt with the obvious pointing of the finger at us.I don't think that hleps the 'cause' at all unfortunaly. There..thats my two bobs worth now..I'm all finished!!

  • Hmm! Sounds like a good drop of 'red' you've just finished there, pudster.

  • p.s And just for the record if anyone is wondering..I believe with all my heart that we are ALL equal in God's sight..black,red,yellow and white!..or anything else inbetween!

  • I am totally aware that this fillm is set in the 60's..just my point..there was no need to bring all that up and carry on any bitterness that the Indigieous people may feel against us. Gee..none of us done this to them. In my opinion the English Govt should have done the big Apology. Our generation is not to blame...and really everyone needs to just accept that we all live here now..this is our home. I was born here ..I am an Australian! and I love my country just like the rest of us.

  • For those amongst us who are culturally insensitive, the film was actually a play that was written 17 years before Kevin Rudd's appollogy. And to SZFREN the Aboriginal people of this nation did not come from a box so there for why should we go back into one? HOw can you know a place when it was wrongly taken?

Thats my two-bob for the day!

  • I saw this movie the other day and unfortunately there was a song that I felt was totally unnessesary.. and very offensive...when all the aborginal boys were singing in the church about how white people took the land and they wouldv'e sent all the convict ships back to England. It was very dissapointing that they had to be antaganistic and political in their songs..I thought that this land belongs to ALL of us now. Its very sad that there is that nasty attitude against non aborignal people.

  • Totally agree with you pudster. Those black people have no right to express themselves in any way that offends you. They should just just get back in their box...and know their place

  • Don't get me wrong. English committed many attrocities when they came out here..I certainly do not condone the way they were treated..but this generation shouldn't be blamed for the suffering and pain that they caused. The Australian govt said 'Sorry' so I thought it was accepted..so my beef is that they seem to be still airing ongoing ,bitterness, whereas it should be settlled down now. It was certainly the wrong platform to air their greivances. I believe of course that evey rperson is eqal.

  • @szfren that is so rasist

  • you cockface why do you watch movie for free there will be no more movies soon and then WTF will you do dickhead

  • Aren't Noongas from the southern region of WA? So it is not about Noongas.

This movie is about a young BROOME boy sent away to school in Perth but is missing his hometown Broome, the family, friends and fishing.

So he runs away and finds his way home all the while being pursued by the Catholic Priest from Clontarf...

  • haha at the end where he shoots the tire then chucks that thing away! lol

  • i want that "theres nothing i would rather be than to be an anborigine" song ..does anyone know how i can get it or listen to it =)

  • There's another older version of it, search iTunes for "Proud to be Aborigine".

  • about time

  • What a SHIT FUCKING movie!

  • This looks pretty damn good!

  • I saw this today and afterwards I went straight to JB to buy the soundtrack. Amazing.

  • I went to go see this, but it was sold out!

  • i feel like running up to the director hitting him with a wooden bat and saying "LEARN HOW TO SPELL" then hitting him again a couple of times

  • @headstrong918 yes. it's supposed to spelt wrong. It's a technique.

  • And what technique is that exactly? hmm, illiterate retardism?

  • think of it this way

    brand new day (bran-ed n-ue d-aie)

    simplify the phonentics

bran (forget the ed) nue dae (remove the i)

you know sometimes titles are used effectively, and sometimes you need an open mind to get the message.

  • and sometimes ur a retard

  • The director's a woman, and that's just ignorant

  • @headstrong918 no! its spelt in PIDGIN, a language used by the aborogines.

  • @Kandemangs Aboriginals don't speak Pidgin

  • Wasn't Pidgin an Aboriginal and not an Aboriginal language?

  • Pidgin is what they speak in Papua New Guinea. It's actually called Pidgin English

  • @tommyau2006 wat do they speak?? I heard them speak a fancy type of broken english similar to pidgin!

  • u are wrong it isnt pidgin + who speaks pidkin over here

  • A Hot Cup Of Tea?

  • loved it....felt so happy when i came out.....laughed so much....theres nothing i rather b then to b a Aboriginie

  • is "bran nue dae" some sort of aboriginal spelling?

  • It's not aboriginal spelling, it's their pronounciation. It's how it would sound if a full blood aboriginal said "Brand New Day".

  • I wanna see this so much!!!!!! XD
