  • Hello, I am getting new mac this month, hopeful. Out of curious, what kind of paint software is this video exactly? Painter 12 or...? Because this software seems most likely easy for beginners...

  • @OneSephiroth Paint Tool Sai. You'll like it - I prefer it to photoshop for coloring in.

  • @OneSephiroth The name of this soft is "easy paint tool saï" ^^

  • ew wtf lol haha awesome drawing though

  • do you have a deviant art? i think i'm subscribed to you

  • @ArtisticMii He's gueuzav on Deviantart.

  • hose =/= pants ^^

  • Now I watch you and I'm subscribed ^^

  • Sos un genio!!! *o*!!!

  • Wait a second.... what just happend to the body of the girl? its flat like idontknowwhat :O

  • Ok **I KNOW THIS PROGRAM IS MADE FOR TABLETS** BUT!! I currently dont have one. Ive looked for MANY videos online on how to get the pen pressure to work but every video i found; someone was using a tablet and it hasnt worked for me.

*Ive tried the min size and messed around with settings

None of it works. I can drag my lines with the pressure tool in line art mode but it takes a long time. Do you know how to get the pressure to work on pens

    ***USING ONLY A MOUSE***

    Thanks~ Kelly.

  • @kelly394 I honestly don't think that's even possible... You should really get a Tablet, I recommend Wacom :)

  • Nice video, it is very helpful

  • Really Nice and Helpful But 1 Question: What Did u use to make the line art?(tool)

  • @XaGueuzav Merci beaucoup, ça va beaucoup me servir :)

  • I'm new on all this digital painting and stuff, and I may sound stupid but: How do you do that technique of coloring outside the line and then somehow the color (outside the line) disappears, I have seen that in allot of speed paints, what is that??? How do you do that??

  • @anaco654 look at my over tutorial ^^

  • I'd like to point out that i basically started playing Wakfu, only because i found out you were doing art for it.

  • i didnt know you started a youtube page ^^* i follow you on dev :) glad to see you here

  • Not sure...if fappable

Tu dessines vraiment bien, continue à nous éblouir! :3

  • This program seems more intuitive for painting than photoshop.

    .

  • howd you do the paint pallette thing. its epic *o*

  • About 4000 pix height

you can take more for more details pictures

  • This is sooo awesome Oo...I love your style and the way you color your art <3...

Can you answer me one question...What size did you choose for this picture?? :)

  • i hope u can make more videos XD * instant subscription*

  • whoa

ive been using SAI for like a year now and i didn't even know some of this stuff

    like layer clipping

and your techniques are so amazing

    i love you.

  • love your work

  • There is a way to use your scanned lines without needing to separate them using photoshop! It's really easy and quick!

  • I'm very glad its silent!

  • oh jaysus do you have a livestream?

    I would watch this.

    alot. daily.

  • I hope to see more tutorials from you.

You are a master of illustration.

  • this is such a beautiful drawing, and i really liked your process, a lot of times you see people paint but you cant really tell what they are doing! this was great!! hopefully i will be able to learn from it :D

  • Wah... C'est très impressionnant, vraiment !

    ~ Jt'admire beaucoup !

    Ps: Vive Dofus ^_^'

  • 4:12 OMG... And I don't omg at things often. I had no idea that would work! That's going to save SO much time!

  • Oh this is good! There's a trick or two at the start I'd like to ask about!

First, do you colour at all on the linework layer? If not how do you get the paintbucket to behave like it? The filling in the gaps with blobs of color is something I never thought of doing because well.. I can't get the paintbucket to fill inside the lines on a layer separate from the lines.

2nd: when filling in the hair, I noticed it had fragments missing, then you did something there that fixed it. What did you do?

  • @Noben Hello ^^

To fill on a different layer than line, you have to put "selction source"(of bucket options) on "canvas" mode" .

For hair , you will prbably havesome fragment missing, yu jus complete colors with pen.

  • @XaGueuzav

Your artowrk is amazing. I still got a lot of improvement to do. :)

  • Hi xav! could you explain how you paint the black line ? you use layer in lighter ? thanks a lot

  • @MrJUANART yes, but you ca also put a simple layer in "layer clip " mode. over line layer ,lline must be separate from blank if it come from a scan (with photoshop or other, i don't find how to do it with sai)

  • I giveup!!

  • Wow...just wow! That was certainly the most useful SAI tutorial I've ever seen! This was SO helpful; I learn lots! Thank you so much gueuzav! :D

  • The only thing that bothers me is extremely skewed anatomy. I realize its a stylistic choice but sometimes it become over the top for me. I also feel as though in every one of your drawings the different characters all have the exact same body type, which doesn't give them their own flair as much as I wish they would. That being said I LOVE your coloring style and I've learned a lot from watching this (: I never knew that the ambient lighting made such a difference!

  • I knew a couple shortcuts, but now I know more. I also love your annotations. People are complaining that's it's "an hour," but I have to disagree. An hour is super fast for something as amazing as this. This was very helpful. Thank you~ ( ; 3;)

  • Holy shiz Gueuzav I didn't know you had a YT channel, I'm so subscribing to this I love your art style

  • Do you use a Tablet, or just a mouse and keyboard? This not only well done, it's also very helpful.

  • @mastersage1 I use a tablet (hightly recommended :) )

  • @XaGueuzav I see, guess I should start saving up then and again, Thank you so much for the the help :')

  • this is amazing but it's ONE HOUR !!

  • OMG!! *_____________________* THANKS YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING THIS WITH US!!

I've always wanted to see you working... And I've learnt a lot! Thank you very much!! :D

  • The speed is just AMAZING. It looks like you recorded the video and then played it at 2x speed.

It takes me forever to color anything.

  • you could put a song

  • Can I ask how you worked got the lineart on its own layer? I never scan because there's all that white that I can't seem to separate.

  • @keltzy You have to set the lineart layer to multiply then paint in a layer under.

  • @keltzy I have to separate my scan with photoshop (i didn't find how to do with sai).

In photoshop, I copied my image, paste it in a" mask layer" , then you get selection from the mask , you will have your "line" selection , then you fill your selection on a new layer.

mmm my english is too bad to explain my self ^^'. I'll soon make a tuto ^^

  • @XaGueuzav if you turn your base color layers to 'Multiply' mode it'll show your line art through and it wont affect the way you shade on top of it. much easier and faster than separating the lines to a different layer.

  • @XaGueuzav After you get your scan drawing on Sai, make a new layer and set it to multiply. You should be able to color like that... I think... owo

  • I take it you use some kind of graphics tablet, so do you recommend any specific one???

    (getting one soon XD)

    And btw, FRICKING EPIC

  • @Evildemon612 Wacom seem's to be the best. A4 mini if you want to do line with. for colors, a little is good enouth.

  • @Evildemon612 i just got a bamboo wacom create [i got mine at best buy] i havent stoped using it. i wound get that one spifily*. it cost about $200 in america, it is probly the milled price rang of bamboos. I also advise you to go to the wacom offical website for the best info

  • I watched this whole video from beginning to end with my mouth hanging open. It's amazing watching you color. You've always been one of my favorite artists, and I'm sure I'll reference this video many times when working on my own colors.

  • Thank you so much for this! you are a huge inspiration!

Did you use any special technique to get your scanned paper so clean? i know a few techniques but they're kinda messy.. are there any more tutorials coming? :) thank you!

  • Her body makes no sense. Its flat as a board! But the coloring is beautiful

  • Nicely Done ★★★★★

    Katalyzt

  • I wish I knew how to even start to do this.... ;C its amazing though..

  • How Many time do you spend in this pic?! OMG!! o.O

  • Did you draw it traditionally first and then scanned it???

  • @MrUncleWhale yes , I scanned it

  • for the win

  • Love it! VERY helpful, same with your basics tutorial!

Please make more if possible. . -^__^-

  • One hell of an ass

  • What are the different layers for? Why do you have so many? and.. How did you draw that?!?!? D:

  • @ThreeLittleRandoms on for each part : hair / skin / clothes / eyes / glow etc..

  • 10:07 bookmark

  • Wow, this is amazing. I NEEDED to watch the entire thing, because it was so helpful I just couldn't miss a second. Great work! I'll be sure to improve from these techniques that you showed us. It'll definately make me feel a lot better to draw with understanding. (:

  • Thank you!!

  • in 3:44 how you can change the colors ?

  • @P1x3lGuy: he used Ctrl+U and changed the settings for the Hue, Saturation, & Lightness

  • @P1x3lGuy with CTRL + U

  • WOW

  • Sublime !

  • Wow...You really put a LOT of time and effort into a drawing. I'm a hasty artist, so I try to get everything done good and fast, but this video has taught me several techniques in digital coloring as well as to learn patience when it comes to great work =) Thank you for that!
