This stuff isn't to my taste (I was listening to Malmsteen in the eighties, I took what I needed from that genre and moved on) It has no phrasing, no dynamics, lacks texture and is not particularly musical. He gave them what they were looking for to make a signature guitar for him.. they probably wanted a demonstration of different elements.. which he gave in this performance... it doesn't have to be your taste.. I love guitar I'm not a huge fan of Jeff Beck or Andy Timmons. Malmsteen isn't exactly the greatest guitarist on the planet either you can't critique everyone else based on him...

Your right though all the virtuosos have it higher up, if i stand up with the guitar i want it to be in the same position as being sat down otherwise its a total waist of time practising sat down
