  • wow, I thought all SIA aircraft had ptv

  • 44 degree celsius?? Crazy!!

  • @Boeingloverzz it's 24 -.-

  • @MrIrreversible Owh, you're right... Sorry, I misunderstand that one... :(

  • @Boeingloverzz lol it's ok i'm not mad.

  • B777 is my favourite amongst commercial airliners.Firstly coz of its main landing gear @ secondly coz of its huge engines!Absolutely fantastic!

  • Sounded like someone was chewing somthin

  • cool

  • 6:12 in the evening and 44 degrees celsius??? OMFG

  • I think she says 24 degree celsius because she said 76 degrees Fahrenheit. 44 degrees celsius would be 111 degrees, not to say that it would get that hot there, but that would be crazy.

  • Welcome to singapore.... lols

  • Great landing !!

I landed here from Hong Kong close to midnight :D

  • Landing distances are calculated on worse possible scenario, so without reverse thrust the plane would not run out of runway, would just use more of it to pull up and exit at a later taxiway, but this would put a lot more wear on the brakes.... however some Airlines dictate that reverse thrust use be kept to a minimum to reduce engine wear, so either way it all comes down to cost savings

  • So, without this Reverse thrust, the plane would actually run out of the runway ?

  • not really but it helps the plane slow down and besides u can add the brakes

  • reverse thrust shorts the landing distance %66percent

  • No. The plane will take a longer time to slow down.

  • B777 rocks!!!

  • Listen carefully people.... she is actually saying TWENTY four degress celsius, which is actually 75.2 degrees fahrenheit, so at 76F she's close enough for me!... by the way, for those of you that haven't flown Singapore Airlines before, they truly are the #1 Airline in the world to fly with, and have the warmest, most genuine cabin staff in the sky. I've flown many miles and with many carriers in my time, so I can say this with confidence.

  • I've never flown SAL.. I do like to say though, my favorite airline is Lufthansa.. The germans truly know how to serve people, and make them comfortable, at least the eight times i've flown with em'! =)

  • @robaveley Actually, it does sound like she said "44 degrees". That caught my attention because my first thought was "Damn, that's hot!" I re-played it a couple times and it still sounds like she said "44 degrees." (I'm sure she actually said "24", but with her accent and unusual diction/pronunciation, it really does sound like "44".)

  • Although I'm from Egypt , I say with trust SAL is the best in the world . Great fleet , great crew and great service . I learned all of these information through ppl's comments on YouTube . I noticed lots of demerits about other airliners but I noticed NONE concerning SAL . Thanx SAL . I grant u all my trust hoping to fly on your board one day .

  • 44 degrees celsius? Maybe that is 600 years later when global warming gets too serious...

  • Singapore does get in the 40s quite frequently actually.

  • where do you get that from? Or am I actually not in the Singapore you're talking about

  • Boy, 44 Celsius is HOT

  • she said 76 farenheit, equates to 24C. lol.

  • ehhh?? WTF when did Singapore's temperature become 44 deg C?

WOOHOO! GO GO SINGAPORE! GO SINGAPORE AIRLINES!

  • man, i love the 777

  • who doesn't?

  • Very cool!!!

  • wijnandmj u stupid or not? no brain ah? u cannot hear that it said welcome to singapore? woah, idiot bitch

  • I love landing at Changi airport in FSX I think it's KEDW

It's the only airport I know with jetways

  • look at the emblem you mook

  • u dumb guy cant u bloody see the singapore airlines logo!!!! god, some ppl!!!!

  • Sorry, I should have said illegal greasy SPIC tortilla benders.

  • 24C

  • erm,is the temperature 44degree?

  • 44C jesus

  • Beautiful engine and a beautiful airport!

  • why do they need to open those things can anyone please tell me :)

  • It is for the reverse thrusters

  • they open them to slow the plane down, it helps in fast deceleration

  • how does it help ? it what way ?

  • the thrust starts going forward to push the plane back(I think)

im not sure u might wanna google it.

  • thanks = )

  • yup your right...

  • When the doors open the trained monkeys that spin the engine are blown out onto the runway. The engine stops and the plane slows down. In the USA monkeys are getting scarce, so airlines are using illegal mexicans to spin the engines. They are all tiny and can fit inside easily.

  • LOL!

  • hahaha, They will soon take over the united states. Soon it will be full of wife beating gang bangers living in this country. Why dont we make them all fight the war for a year before they live here.

  • ROFL.

  • Deflects exhaust gases forward and the throttle is also raised automatically to help in slowing down.

  • Awesome video i love airplanes

  • hoo baby look at those reverse thrusters just beautiful d last time i saw it was in zurich n baby it was awesome

  • Glad u like it....its counter-intuitive to hear the engines revving up when you know the plane is trying to decelerate.

  • correct me if im wrong sorry cuz i really dunno much bout it well do the enigne spin backwards after landing

  • No.. the thrust exhaust is simply diverted forwards instead of towards the back.. it's really simple.

Think of it like this.. this is the turbine: [_]

    This is the thrust: ----

    normally: -----[_]

A Thrust reverser is mechanical system that directs the thrust forward by routing it physically so it's like: /

    <--[_] \

    / & \ = Redirected thrust.

    < = Thrust reverser.

Look at the Harrier fighter jet.. it directs it's thrust downward to lift off vertically like a helicopter.

  • ah ok i get it thx alot for explaining

  • @windomes300 Yeah, I feel the same way. I mean, I know how thrust reversers work, but as you said, it's strange to hear the engines revving up when you're trying to slow down!

  • Title says "landing Singapore reverse thrust"

  • it says SIN in spanish that means without

  • unfortunately we speak english here..

    not SPANISH!!

    SIN mean Singapore Changi Airport..

its 3letter IATA code for airport

  • Thank you Blackuzco, its better u reply...

  • @RaptoF22 The title is in English, and "sin" probably means "without" in some other language.

  • Approach looks pretty good to me. They land slightly late just after the mid thick landing keys you see at 0:30

  • Not really mate,

if you watch at 0:24 the aircraft crosses the piano keys, they are supposed to be 50ft at that point they are definately not above 50ft therefore the approach is normal.

  • that ,s not a 777-200 its have to have tv screens on avery chair

  • Yes, each seat has a TV screen, but its folded down between the seats. You need to lift it up via a pivoting arm, so the screen is much nearer to you.

  • I am so dumb to aeronautics- I still don't get 'how' reverse thrusters work. Okay, so the engine opens as we see in the video, but what is occurring to slow the plane down. Told ya, dumb ;-)

  • how big are the tires on these things?

  • hey that's First Class! Is it?

  • Unfortunately, I was in "working class". The first class pax don't See, Hear or Feel the engine. They sip best wines, taste caviar, foie gras, wagyu or kobe beef with truffle prepared by Michelin chefs and equivalents. Only first class for me is SIN-KL-SIN for 40mins, by default as that route has no "working class". Family holidays always on "cattle class".

  • Do you like Singapore Airlines?

I think it is the best!

  • Always SQ for me, not because I am Singaporean. I have tried numerous other airlines, but the best service and on-time departure is still SIA. They are so punctual, once the crew closed the door on my colleague and I, while we were running towards the plane inside the aerobridge, with hand luggage only. Heard that the average fleet age is 5 years or less. Company has very healthy balance sheet to buy original spare parts. My next favourite is Emirates.

  • LOL my favourite is emirates then singapore. i have never been on it but im going on SIA in december from sydney to cairo then ill choose wich is better. i flew emirates from sydney to lebanon i found it great service and aircraft but ill just gota see how SIA is:)

  • No doubt that Emirates and SIA are very close fighters for the top spot. They are both very good and top of the league. Do you think Qatar Air is coming up fast behind them?

  • Qatar mayby but i might think etihad is behind them qatar i think is after etihad

  • I see, have not tried Etihad yet. Hope to have a chance soon.

  • yeah my uncle flew on it from sydney to cairo he said it was a great airline. but i dont bieleve anyone till i go on it myself. lol cya :)

  • As the top airlines try to outdo each other, we consumers, hope to benefit from better service and maybe prices too. Ha!

  • Lol hhaha

  • Game theory and pricing :)

  • Yo Game Theory.... my favourite subject in school and prisoner's dilemma....

  • well that was an umbumpy landing hey,

    peoples,

-----click on my username to watch all my aussie plane videos!!!!!-----

  • thats the translating sleeve opening there not the cowl! It wouldnt be nice seeing a cowl opening during flight!

  • OK, thanks for your guidance!

  • where didja come from?

  • This flight was from Bangkok, Thailand.
