Really cool only you shouldn't touch the fish too much. It rubs off their slime coat. That's necessary to help prevent diseases and parasites in the fish. However it grows back but over a long time.

I merely pieced together all the information and chose the one that stood out the most. seemed quite obvious enough. i was schooled in the normal educational environments (schools) as well as a optional educational environment (college). I don't have autism that i know of and i don't spend my life correcting.

@carboymad - you would have to question whether Koi would be very sporting fish to catch. They would be kind of boring. Throw in a hook with ANYTHING on the end and they'll eat it. I don't think they would even struggle much as you reel them in given how tame they are.

I'm unsure about the petting and how it affects the koi since I don't think it have the slime layer over its skin, And since the fishes can breath normal air which is different from most fishes they should be totally fine here. And she isn't petting the fish any harder then the fishes are rubbing against each other anyway.

@arsenalgoonerable - At the hotel where this occurred, they are configured for easy access to feed the fish. The "bank" where she is standing is right along the reception area and there are even steps into the water. The reason that some of the fish appear out of the water is that they have made their way up to the top step. In any case, it was clear that they set this up for easy human fish interaction. There are lots of people feeding the fish every day.

@wishen4fishen2 - the problem with a binary survey is that there's no information on why people voted the way they did. As far as I can tell, may folks who posted negative comments were noting that touching fish can remove their protective coating and be harmful. That's probably why they "disliked", then there's the odd lot that seem to have an issue with Asians. So far I don't think any of the issues are with kids, but then you never know. @mmmmmarcus Nah I think the white Koi will be alright, you are correct that petting it to much will hurt it by removing the slime substance fish need to survive but underwater you can touch them without harming them and this one was partially submerged so I think he will be fine.
