The answer to the Davos question is lurking out there in space. It,s the next BIG piece of space rock with our name on it. WHEN it hits, all mankinds troubles will be over. Ahmen!
I'm going to read more books; starting with The World according to Clarkson, by Jeremy Clarkson, then, A practical guide to Aviation Weather, by John L. Nelson, then the Haynes Automotive Electrical Manual. Well it's a start!
I'm sure that as a result of my efforts the World will become a much better place in no time at all.
Dont Read This.you will Get kissed on the nearest possible friday By the love of your life. However if you dont post this comment to at least 3 videos you will die within 2 days. Now uv starded reading Dis Dunt stop This is so scary send this over to 5 videos in 143 minuts when ur done press F6 And ur crushes name will appear on the screen in Big Letters. This is so scary cuz it actually works This really workxx
Continuing my comment below, a point should be made that books are enlightening so long as you have an actively critical mind. The rigorous process of publishing books does not weed out the bullshit as much as we'd hope.
Not everything published in books is legit though. There were books distributed after 9/11 to children in public schools in some part of america that flatly said muslims are the enemy, look what they did to us. Kids grow up to think everything in books is true, and that's not quite right.
I wish I had started reading book on my own sooner in life. Read books, the best books you can find starting now and you will be happier and better off.
I agree with bob forbes, after reading the book:"Reading Lolita in Tehran" I no longer wonder why those women act like they do in pakistan or why they wear those head scarves.
See Room to Read, an incredible organization that partners with local rural communities in the developing world and works with them to build local libraries.
I agree with you completely, and when I was young especially in the military I always had a book in hand. Now that I am 70 I am completely addicted to YouTube and the internet. Anyway I lived in a time of books and no TV or internet. I am thankful for that, but I am afraid I don't have time for books anymore. I know -- that's sad - please forgive me. :)
The book is China: A New History by John King Fairbank and Merle Goldman. Also read The Most Noble Adventure by Greg Behrman, Race Against Time by Stephen Lewis, The Fate of Africa by Martin Meredith, and The End of Poverty by Jeffrey Sachs.
Giving by Bill Clinton, The World is Flat by Thomas Friedman, Team of Rivals by Doris Kearns Goodwin, Gettysburg Gospel by Gabor Boritt are a few excellent books that I've read recently. There is also a book about China by an eminent scholar who passed away completed by a female colleague but their names escape me at present. I will post again with the names and a few other recent reads soon.
Maybe the Davos people could supply us with a list of recommended books in the description bar. I'm interested in reading what our great leaders are reading. just 10 books, so we can go look them up. Its not my place, but it would be nice :)
