I'm gonna have to delete this soon. More people are viewing this low quality vid than the better version I uploaded. For crying out loud just click on the link above!
When I have some spare time I'll upload a better quality clip. Unfortunately, I don't have any more footage. I'll also try to upload a short clip of Smokin' Jo at the first deja vu 1993.
HAHA this made me laugh.. Now is the place that had a cinema downstairs for music vids? I remember watching Bananarama's Stay with me? with a hells angel. Then upstairs were some little nazi casuals who started doing Hitler salutes. AT 0.16 that circular brown bit had a mirror surface and everyone was rolling spliffs, snorting off it. LMFAO!!!! Or am I thinking of Henrys? Someone please let me know :O)
I'm sure you must be thinking of Henry's? Romeo's had a massive Co Op place downstairs. I'm sure they did have big t.v screens though just after the pay box and just before entering Romeo's. A really large seated area that looked like a casino. I used to love Juliet's for the music. Does anyone remember that star lit back corridor? People used to use it like a lovers lane!
I thought it was Henrys, I knew it, My brother always says no, it was Romeos, and he has more right to a memory than I do. Always thinks hes right tho the little twat. He always says Im thinking of Henry Africas in Scunthorpe, another dive....so circular mirror ledge at Henrys and Im sure it it wasnt just there for the girls to fix their makeup cheers Rudy.
You used to enter on the ground floor and then have to climb about 200 stairs to get to the club, remember? Just before entering Juliets', I'm sure there was a green lit burger bar or something? All this talk has got me listening to Steve 'Silk' Hurley!
@rudyprotrudy08 Yeah the memory is a bit of a haze now I know I went every where and sounding old but Hull in the day was miles better then London in the 90s. The music was better the style was better and the attitude was. The music scene was at its height come on Hull we need to kick the music industry up the arse again.
Aint it strange how 1st leisure owned this club - it got shut down then later they opened L.A.S which was to dominate all the other clubs in hull at that time?
