Dubstep lacks syncopation in its rhythm. There's quite a bit more of music theory that goes into the difference between the two genre. It's not a minor difference.

And to everyone else... the bass wobble has been around since early 90s, ten years before dubstep was even around. It's not a dubstep exclusive bass.
