Jonathan Rhys Meyers is so sexy! i will never stop saying that...Henry Cavill is very sexy too....damn is all i can say on him! Natalie Dormer was my favorite character besides Jonathan Rhys Meyers. Henry and Anne were my fave!
i love watching this.great storyline, stage management and acting i believe jonathon rhys meyers to be a great actor and if he was to break into hollywood would have the potential to be named right up there with the best of them.he somehow reminds me of an early oliver reed!!
English people I need your help with this one. Didn't ABSOLUTE power end with the Magna Carta? In the last season he seemed to need Parliament to pass a law to allow the execution of an insane Lady Rochford right?
plus it's rekindled my passion for tudor england .. so even if the show isn't being strictly 'truthful' there's a lot of info out there to feed the information
yeah it does show it like it was but couldn't they get him to eat a few pies in season 3 he is sposed to be old and a right fatty. unecessary amount of sex though
Even though they get a lot of things wrong it does in my opinion do one thing that more historical accurate films/shows about Henry don't. That is that they actually show Henry culpable for what happens rather than make out it was everyone elses fault. Not that the people around him were blameless but at the end of the day he was the one with the power.
I agree with you. I love this show and I love Tudor history. Even if things aren't entirely historically accurate, it doesn't mean that the heart and the story isn't getting out there. I like how they developped Anne Boleyn into being more than what she was mostly known as (a whore).
they get so many little details completely right then the big things completely wrong. i mean wtf!!!!!!!!!!
they talk about him being athletic and v.young when he gets rid of katherine when he so wasn't. yeah jonathan is a fittyyy but its just not truthful. but the atmosphere is exciting fast paced and vivid and it is highly addictive.
The show is great but there are several things they change that didn't need to be. Mainly the combining of both Henry's sisters. The real Margaret married King James of Scotland, and Mary (The one in the show, they just switched her name) married King Louis of France, then Charles Brandon. She did however died in 1533. Her son, just a year later. Then Charles married his 15 yr old bride.
They are describing him as he was when he was young. There is no doubt that he was an old fat man when Kitty Howard married him but they're trying to show that that's not all that he was.
Great dramatic imagining of the reign of Henry VIII. I understand many are disappointed by the seeming lack of historical accuracy. The show tries to stay true to what information we do have about this time period in English history...it takes creative liberty with certain figures for the dramatic effect. This is Showtime people, not the History Channel
ok. i am a tudors fan!1 i love this show sooo much it ridiculous. my fav charcters r....... actually i love all of them. this show got me so draw in dat missing one epsiode pisses me off for the whole day. this interview jus makes me love these anymore because their so fantastic n this show...... p.s. does anyone else want to be natilie dormer because her beauty is amazing!
i think the tudors show another side of the monarchry and henry was fit when he courted anne. he was injured on a joust which created an open sour that eventualy killed him after he started seeking jane
But the time this was set it he wst young or handsome! That was when he and Catheirne of Aragon were young, the 1510s and early 1520s, not whne he was courting anne bullen!
But the time this was set it he wst young or handsome! That was when he and Catheirne of Aragon were young, the 1510s and early 1520s, not whne he was courting anne bullen!
My Canadian and showtime deprived brethern I don't know if you know this already but if you want to see the first two episodes search The Tudors on myspace and the Showtime VIP Password is sneak peek. You all probably know this already but if I can help one person I've done my duty!
this looks totally ridiculous...really does take a great deal of free range with a historical period...wonder if they'll be incorporating all the other stuff that went along with the period, lack of WCs, lice, fleas, disease...probably not, doesn't seem to go with the scenes of people screwing...disgusting
xinko...i wasn't aware that england became a republic ? Not yet anyways..:P
But yes, am looking forward to this very much but just to be a history bore....henry was 40 something when he met anne, not as a strapping 20 something as depicted here...he has alot to answer for as far as the catholic and protestant thing goes though.
I think x1nk0 is talking about the years under Cromwell, Lord Protector.
Yeah, on the face of it I think they did pick someone to portray Henry on the young & attractive side, but well, it is television we're talking about.
As for the catholic and protestant thing, during Henry's time I don't think you could call the Anglican church very "protestant", more of an English Catholicism.
I heard that they decided to combine Princess Mary and Princess Margaret into one, single character... for no reason I can fathom. I wish they hadn't, it just confuses everything (particularly for the historians amongst us ^_^)
Indeed, they are. Mary married the elderly King of France, who died shortly afterwards, and then married Henry's friend Charles Brandon afterwards... I'm still not sure where they got the idea to involve the King of Portugal in any of this, though, or to switch the princesses in the first place. This looks like an entertaining series, but some of the inaccuracies drive the historically OCD part of me crazy.
Where is Katherine of Aragon (Maria Doyle Kennedy)? I hate it that they didn't include her

One thing that it's weird is the "spiky" hair some actors had.Very modern hairstyle.

I think the tudors has way 2 much sex come on its sex here sex there it makes me go all funny
exella2000 3 years ago
Sex is essentially what ran the story between Henry and Anne. I think the sex is just right specailly between those two characters.
Theres a reason the show is rated the way it is. If you cant handle the sex then why watch it :P
