  • Great art work. How do you seal a finished conte crayon drawing?

  • Thanks! What I've done is to spray regular fixative onto the Conte drawings - It needs to be done at least a few times - spray, let dry 15 minutes and spray again. However, it does dull the drawing a little and you may need to touch up afterwards here and there. To tell the truth, I have never been able to fix a Conte drawing so that it isn't still somewhat messy. That's one reason I stopped drawing with Conte crayons, though I loved using them. - Jean

  • all the old vehicles are gunna be gone bc the vehicles were haveing is getting better than old school

  • wow, beautiful drawings, but poor cars :(

  • Wow, really handsome art works. The piano music is very authentical.

  • HiFromJV, can you tell me what different between pastel crayon and conte crayon, if i want more detail on line(when drawing with conte crayon) better use charcoal pen or ink pen or pencil or up to me because is same. Nice drawing and thumb up.

  • Thanks very much for your comment! - JV

  • I would have had music from the 30s but it's not available to use for free. Thanks very much for your kind words. - JV

  • Very nice, reminds me of Fallout 1. =)

music was nice, tho I prefer the later stuff in the 1920's-1950's period, tho that would possibly be abit too upbeat for broken down vehicles lol.

Shame so few views, while total rubbish gets loads. =/

  • nice drawings... you have perfect proportions, and by the way how the hell do you do that with crayons!??!???

  • Thank you! Actually, Conte Crayons aren't really "crayons," like the kind kids draw with. They're a kind of hard pastel, sort of like chalk, only not as hard as chalk, and they come in rich colors. They're lots of fun to use, though they're messy - The colors get all over your fingers and whatever you happen to touch. I ike them, though! You break off pieces and turn them sideways to get a large amount of color in an area, or you can use them like a pencil in other places.

  • awsome drawings.. but this made me bored as hell.. i think its cause of the classic music thingy ching ching.. ^^

  • Thanks for your compliment on my drawings, and I appreciate the input on the music, too. You're right about its being "classic" music as it's considered to be "classic ragtime," which preceded and influenced jazz. To me this piece was appropriate for the subject of these battered old vehicles because of the "old timey" feel to it and its quiet, appreciative, but slightly melancholy mood -- That's how I feel about these old vehicles and what I think about as I'm drawing them.

  • Excellent !!!! Tu déchires !!! Continues ! L'énergie est magique !

  • what's contai crayons

  • Conte crayons are like hard pastels. If you want to know more about them take a look at the Conte Crayons pages on my website. I've tried to add the URL, but my comment doesn't appear. So, please just search for Jean Vincent Conte crayons to find your way there.
