1) There may not be treats there... bears eat bugs people.. that could be moths.. spider webs.. you don't know.

2) Some people who live in bear country actually realize who was there first. I only report problem black bears who don't move on after a day or two.

3) A black bear isn't like a polar bear... he's not going to break down your door for food... not when the grass is still green and there's plenty of time to forage.

@hilarycopp I live in Black Bear country and know multiple people who have had a bear forcefully come into their house. One of my friends broke her leg running from a bear that had broken through the window. Maybe you need the facepalm if you dont realize how dangerous these things really are.

We usually have more cougar attacks where I am from, but that could be simply be because black bear food sources are abundant. I am aware how dangerous they and am respectful of their boundaries.

The bear will become more comfortable coming to your house if it finds food there all the time. IMO - you should scare it off BEFORE it finds food at your house again. If it finds food, you will have a very tough time scaring it off. To scare it off, have a couple people run at it while waving sticks above their head.
