  • john peel had such a love for bands like the mondays, he was a prophet as far as great bands were concerned, he knew the mondays had great rawness and potential, listening to his show on radio one after 10 was sometimes hard but other times fucking brilliant and the happy mondays, were in the latter, CLASS

  • Fucking awesome tune!!!

  • always loved this crazy voice

  • keep this quite!

don't let anyone find out about this album,

    fucking magic.

  • The Monday's at their best, forget the later stuff, this is the real thing from the real thing x

  • @kristalklass couldnt agree more i saw them in Bradford when this album had just come out.It was way better than the "famous" gmex gig I also went to 18 months later. A band at their absolute peak

  • White working class funk music

  • @Clempt90: working class soul music. Being white has nothing to do with it.

  • @RHutton2710 It has everything to do with it as the same sound would never have come from an all black band or Asian or whomever . Me saying that is not racist in anyway shape or form if thats what your getting at ? I am merely speaking the truth as would Wu-tang clan sound the same if they were white ? I think not .

  • My favorite Mondays record;big and chunky! I nearly ran Bez over once when he came out of a sidestreet on his mountain bike at warpspeed 10.

  • Ya kw the first verse of the song is about Martin Hannet leaving Factory!

  • unos de los mejores temas de happy mondays te hace bailar, gran banda!!!

  • tart tart was the woman from the Hac shaun and Bez got there gear off,..

  • This is the track that got me to understand how revolutionary the Mondays were.

  • nice loose groove

  • i think i can hear john cale somewhere...

  • Ohhhhhhhhhhh seeeeeeeeeeeeeh

  • spot on - Mondays before the media took hold - as Psychedelic as Syd and as funky as anything

  • i'm a drug addicted/ alcoholic

  • i think the Mondays were such underated.. if it it hadnt been for Factory records... Manchester would never have had some of the worlds greatest bands... If Oasis dindnt copy the Mondays.. I am a Monkeys Uncle...

  • right on

  • Actually, Oasis based their musical style & even the vocal style on the Beatles. You can clearly hear it in a lot of their records.

Oasis have even publicly admitted this.

  • @AmeliaCallula Your right but they nicked of ROSES more!!

  • @AmeliaCallula Ya kw the first verse of the song is about Martin Hannet leaving Factory!

  • @AmeliaCallula The Mondays are really underrated. Better than Oasis no doubt. Oasis made only what, two good albums? Blahh. This song is fucking incredible, and Shaun Ryder's voice and lyrics are fucking great. Love these guys

  • the sound of 80's Salford (*_*?

  • Whopper shiat! WIT Spleefs in d kitchen!

  • Paul Ryder is possibly one of the most underrated bassists of all time. Very funky deep bass, also I think the rest of the band are musically underrated, I think moose was a good rhythm guitarist too, plus they had a big personality at the time, which really some people don't care about the music too much, especially the media...

  • Love a band that breaks the rules! Shaun is up there with the best. Musically not great but they had that something that encaptured the mood in that era...Moody bad postured kids that took alot of drugs..Nevertheless outstanding contribution to the history of music,,,You don't have to be Andew loyd webber or Simon and Garfunkel to make music work, it's all about the feeling and the mood it creates in your mind, When this band were popular I wanted to slouch, be arrogant and have loppy hair.

  • musically not great? they were criminally underrated musically, the band were tight, they had top tunes, talent but the image took over, cockbreath

  • The very fact that their music was bit loose was what made it good...You missunderstood. Cuntbreath!

  • @bishbashbosh66

I think kids these days are sill in that mood

  • @bishbashbosh66 how cany you say 'hes not musically great' hes a musical genius, most people think hes an idiot, but theres no one else like him

  • @pepitojoe think he meant "not technically great"......ire ...much bless

  • @reggaecracker he was technically great! how do u define whats technical or not. sounding good? thats enough for me, i dont care if he sings out of key and cant play anything but the triangle

  • buenisimo se me puso la piel de gallina como cada vez k lo escucho siempre va a estar bueno happy mondays

  • Pauls bass was the Soul of the band...

  • The best Mondays record by far.

  • Second that!

  • No way redeyes05

The best Mondays record is God's Cop

  • The B side of this is even better - I'll pay no taxi cab! post it man!

  • tt she laid it on..

  • not very 80's band

  • MADCHESTER FUCKIN RULES!!

  • fucking best one!

  • Wow...loved pills n' thrills. Never heard this one before. The base line is majestic, it rules.

  • squirrel and g-man was there best album

  • yea, when they were all about acid and speed.....and not ecstasy and crack

  • The happy mondays equal god

  • this is fuckin incredible

  • Favourite Mondays track by far - I remember the video, Shaun Ryder can hardly hold his head up he's so smacked out...

  • @Eightball69 Top tune agreed but shaun wasn't touchin scag in those days mate n the video was shot in Drinkies
