In all honestly, it appears to me that Paul is directing this to letter to the Church of Corinth only. I think it clear that Paul is simply saying that the Church of Corinth is a part of the larger Church of Jesus. The NIV version is a little more clear on this point.

I would say to the scripture that that the culture of Corinth incorporated sensuality into it's worship of pagan gods, so Paul's message was largely targeted at those who had fallen back into this practice.
